  Good location, but not a good value for this money

  I spent 2 nights here on a business trip. The hotel has excellent location, but unfortunately not many parking spaces around. The hotel staff at the front desk was very helpful and kind. The others at the small basement restaurant were also kind with me. The breakfast was disappointing: no healthy options, food smell, lack of options, table service only - you don’t know what they exactly think if you ask something. If you don’t like the full English, there are not many other options. Few pieces of fruit (apple, banana, orange) and some cereal or croissant. Well, for this overnight price I was waitting much more.The room (12m2) was looking much smaller, there was not many space to move: it was good for sleeping only. The bathroom was small and tight, some mould on the ceiling, the bath tub’s tap was not properly switch between the shower and free flow. Otherwise clean, no other issues.Here I met first time the “Roomservice which not delivered into the room” If you need something, collect it from the front desk. Oh no.The whole building has very narrow corridors, probably a normal size wheelchair couldn’t move on those.Overall I think with regard everything, it looks overpriced for me, even in London relation.

  Charming London Stay with Excellent Service

  We enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Place. It’s an older property with lots of character and charm, and the rooms were surprisingly spacious for London. Everything was clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast offered plenty of options, was delicious, and service was quick. The location is excellent—just a 5-minute walk to Baker Street Tube station—and it was easy to get here from King’s Cross (a quick taxi ride for only £9 with luggage and the whole family). There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, plus a convenient next-day laundry service within walking distance. Most importantly, the staff were excellent—friendly, attentive, and always helpful. Highly recommend for a convenient and memorable stay!

  A fantastic gem of a hotel!

  I have stayed here every summer for the past 3 years and absolutely love it. The staff are so friendly and the hotel is lovely. It’s in a perfect location between Baker St and Marylebone high street with so many cafes and restaurants near by. The rooms are great with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I wish I could move in and live here all year round!!!

  We have just had our second stay at La Place, we went 2 years ago at Easter & just returned for the weekend before Christmas, a family stay of 2 adults, teenager & 2 children 8 & 9. I found this hotel completely by luck and found it so lovely that we couldn’t wait to go back. We stay in the family suite which is more of a self contained little flat with a kitchen & separate bedroom, there is so much room! The location is brilliant, you can walk into central London from here about 20 minutes, Baker Street tube is about 7 minute walk, it is on plenty of bus routes, it is in a gorgeous residential area off the High street of Marylebone, which is a lovely area to stay in, plenty of bars & restaurants from the corner opposite, quiet at night. The staff here are wonderful & the owner Hal treats you like a member of his family. The breakfast is superb, lots of choice of pretty much everything & a full cooked breakfast. The room is very clean, I suppose by some peoples standards one might say it is “tired” in the Deco & doesn’t have a huge endless list of facilities, but it is not a sprawling modernistic hotel, in my experience a more personal stay beats that any day! We absolutely love it for its charm, location & staff. We will most definitely be going back, it is now our “go to” hotel in London without hesitation, I could not recommend it highly enough.

  The worst hotel I have stayed in in Marylebone. Refused to provide a bottle of water on a second night stay. Only complimentary on the first night. At £277a night you would think they can stretch to a bottle of water. Iron did not work and when I asked reception I was told to hunt the hotel (at 0645hrs) for housekeeping. When I going her it was such an inconvenience to sort this out. Shockingly bad service. Room and hotel are tired and in need of serious upgrades demanding £277 a night. Never again and will tell anyone that will listen.
