    Make sure the lifts are working before you book

    Great location to stay, well located to the tube system, but make sure the elevators are working! My room was a one bedroom suite withe a very helpful kitchen with modern fridge freezer and full cooking facilities, Dishwasher and laundry washer/dryer which allowed me to cook my own breakfasts before heading out. Bathroom was spacious although under supplied with towelling but extras were available from reception. No face washer cloths - staff told me management refuse to supply them. No tissues in the bathroom. Room was clean. Bedding was great. Elevators in the building are a major issue. One of the two was out all 8 days of my stay leading to a line of people waiting for the only one working and frustrating waits at any given time. One morning both elevators were out - not great when you're on the 14th floor.

    The dirtiest room without a offered view

    The room was in an unacceptable condition. The pink sofa in the living area was visibly dirty and stained to the point that it was impossible to sit on it. The floor was also clearly unclean. We paid for a room with a sky city view, but we looked out the windows of a nearby building.The both elevators were broken and we walked up and down to the 19th floor!

    Left Without Accommodation after Bedbug Discovery

    I had an absolutely awful experience with Leman Locke in Whitechapel.At around 11:30pm on the night of arrival, I found a bedbug crawling on me while sitting on the couch, my suspicions confirmed by Google Lens. I later saw more - one on the bed pillow and another in the bathroom, so it wasn't just lost.I went straight to reception expecting them to take this seriously and help resolve it. Instead, I was told the hotel was fully booked, their other locations were also full, and there was basically "nothing they could do."I asked to speak with a manager but was told no manager available. No ability to escalate, no real attempt to take ownership - just a vague suggestion I might get “some” money back. Some?! I was handed an email address with which I could make a complaint. The email address was for "reception" at Leman Locke, literally where I was standing.I was then advised to find another hotel myself. At midnight.In a further insult, when I suggested that, if the worst came to the worst and I couldn't find an alternative, I could at least take sanctuary in reception, I was told they could not allow me do that, as it would look bad to other guests!After trying multiple places, I eventually found a room at my own expense and didn’t get to bed until after 1am - completely defeating the purpose of staying there for an early work commitment the next day.The lack of basic duty of care here is shocking, as is the lack of any kind of escalation procedure. Managers should be woken from their bedbug free slumber to resolve incidents of this nature.Any reasonable hotel should have taken responsibility - arranged alternative accommodation, covered the cost, and ensured I wasn’t left wandering around late at night. Instead, I was abandoned to a stressful, avoidable situation.

    Broken lifts - which is an issues when 21 flights up! Bed cheap and no v comfortable Shabby around the edges and in need of redecoration Smelly drain in the bathroom which made the entire apartment smell horrible Aircon didn't work - fan just seemed to blow hot hair back in to the room meaning room was unbearably warm at times

    PROS:Location - Steps to the Circle/District Line.CONS:I stayed in 2 different rooms over a 2 week period. The rooms are not very clean. You really need to clean yourself on arrival. There are only 2 elevators in the building, one of which was not functioning for the entire 2 week period. As there are 18-20 floors in the building; assume 10-12 apartments per floor; that means either a long waiting time for the one elevator or alternatively walk the stairs. I needed to cut my stay short by one day and asked for a refund for one day out of the 11 day stay. The desk clerk told me this was possible 2 days before I checked out. When I checked out and asked when I could expect my refund for the one day, the hotel said that is not possible and refused to refund me 1 day out of an 11 day stay after spending well over $2,500.
