    Great stay for excel

    Hotel is in a great location for the excel, although you enter at the side instead of front. Bed was very comfortable and room was extremely clean. It was also very quiet. Reception staff were also very friendly. I didn’t have breakfast so couldn’t comment but the food offerings did look plenty. Chinese restaurant across the road was lovely.

    Air conditioning does not work in this hotel - Avoid in summer

    Unfortunately despite a wonderfully warm welcome from engaging front of office staff the basic requirement of an ability to sleep was not met. The air conditioning advertised as part of the room amenities does not work and the Moxy team are aware of this. Avoid this hotel in warm weather or you will be trapped in their small rooms with hot air blowing at you from the air conditioning unit. This is, according to staff, a cost containment decision taken by their owners. Best avoided and last stay for me!     Amazing stay

    Stayed here for an early anniversary celebration and I cannot fault this hotel. From the start to the finish all was perfect We got in earlier than expected and had a room available which is always a plus :) Our room was beautifully decorated and cleaned .. we also had some complimentary drinks and Snacks which i thought was a lovely touch . The beds are very comfortable and the best of all is even though it’s by the airport you cannot hear a single sound… I’m a very light sleeper so this was definitely a bonus ☺️100% would recommend and will definitely comeback again Thanks guys

    Just a few niggles , but it’s the little things that matter!

    Just a few kilometres away from the Wonderful Brick Lane Music Hall. My wife and I stayed in a double room 21/02/26 because it was priced at a reasonable rate including hot & cold breakfast buffet. But unfortunately they don’t or didn’t have decaffeinated coffee, but oddly enough they did have decaffeinated tea, whilst we stayed there. When I asked at reception they directed me to the nearest shop!This was important to me as my stomach cannot tolerate caffeine, (sorry too much information).The room was clean and a reasonable size, the shower room was tiny and had nowhere to hang the wet towels, apart from one very small rail. It was nice and quiet with a reasonable view (room 333), the temperature was excellent, the tv was good too. The lounge area was very noisy, full of children the day we arrived. The bar was well stocked and reasonably priced for London. We appreciated the voucher for a free drink each.There was a useful gadget by the front door exclusively for booking a Uber which we used successfully.The outer front automatic door seemed to have some sort of fault, juddering badly and disturbingly noisy. Breakfast was an unusual set up with neat portals displaying each type , the tables were extremely messy, as was the floor area under the tables, customers were supposed to clear their own tables with the provided tray and place them in a rack, but nobody was clearing or cleaning the tables, so we had to clear one ourselves! There was one member of staff removing the racks of trays, if he had moved any slower, he would’ve been going backwards!This hotel is situated on a road of lots of modern hotels and a few hundred yards walk from the DLR Royal Albert station. To some up:-Would we stay there again? quite likely.We would take our own coffee? Definitely Why only 3 stars? If the problems above hadn’t arisen it would’ve been 4 stars. While we do encourage guests to return trays, this should always be supported by attentive staff presence to maintain cleanliness and comfort.
