  Not as bad as you might think

  We booked this because it was such a bargain $129 Aus a night! Then my husband found these horrible reviews and I was scared to stay there. I brought along my own sheets and was prepared to move out.we arrived at the agreed time 3pm. No one was there to let us in. Waited 40 minutes. A young man finally let us move off the doorstep. Went to the room it was TINY but clean. What I Liked: it is clean and gets cleaned every day. Lovely thick fluffy clean white towels each day. A little tv but it works. Location is FANTASTIC! 5 minutes from Paddington station and heaps of eating options. We walked all over London from here often though beautiful Hyde park. Very quiet place. What I didn’t like the view from the window is blah. What I really didn’t like was the shower. You get hot water but only after 8 am so if you shower earlier (like me) you shower cold or heat up water in the kettle to rinse your hair. Crazy! Would I stay here again? Yes, absolutely, where else can you stay so cheap in London in a clean and good location? I read the staff are rude. Aside from check in we only saw the cleaner. She is lovely. I don’t think English is her first language so she may appear abrupt but she was super helpful whenever I needed anything and was very nice.

  Where do I even begin? They have no actual working wifi (they're using another hotel's wifi at the end of the block), which is evident when you go to connect and everyone is using their hotspots. Toilets don't flush, beds are hard as a rock, stained towels, bathroom doors don't close, the list is endless! And it's not even a budget hotel! Don't do it!

  Utterly dreadful. Old, uncomfortable bed, cold water only, dingy room, not especially clean. Room was cold. Provided with one old and wafer thin blanket so hardly slept. Glad to get out if the place in the morning. Hard to find anything positive to say about such a dump. Avoid at all costs.

  I had a horrible experience in this hotel, my first time in London, totally bad. Received by a guy at reception, we asked to turn up the heating, which was broken. He treated us rudely, went up the stairs, completely stupid. that it didn't have, that the heating worked and was enough, old hotel, broken bathroom, old furniture, hard bed, smell of damp, the only positive thing was a lady cleaning, but be very careful with your objects as they come in to clean... at night reception is closed and guests are left alone, if something happens there is nothing! dangerous! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

  Avoid this hotel at all costs. We stayed here for two nights, and although we aren't fussy people and are happy with the basics, this place was dreadful. No hot water, shower ran cold and water temperature couldn't be attempted to be adjusted as the shower faucet was broke. I have just read a few more reviews (wish I had before I'd booked) about the shower faucets being broke and I'm starting to wonder if this is deliberate. Only time we did briefly have warm water was when I was brushing my teeth, which was oddly running from the cold tap. Toilet wouldn't flush properly, floors creaked with every footstep and also no heating (it's late November). As we were checking out, we had hoped to leave our luggage in storage for the day, which was advertised on the website, but this wasn't the case. Their website also states the following is available -Tea and Coffee facilities - LIEIn room safe - LIELift - LIE24 hour reception - LIEThese things weren't terrible important to us, but the fact that they can just lie and get away with it is scandalous.Please read the reviews before you book, because I've read some really horrendous accounts with photographic evidence. My advice would be to just spend a little extra and stay elsewhere.
