    Fantastic hotel in a great location

    This hotel is in a great location to visit London. We stayed to see Oliver and we are very pleased we did. The reception staff were friendly and very polite, efficient and helpful. The room itself was really lovely. It was nice and clean with plenty of space and the bathroom was beautiful. We slept really well as it was nice and quiet. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

    Requested a checkout at 2 pm, they took a note and this is one of privileges in Accor system as a Diamond member. At 1 pm I found a family opening the door of my room while I am in and telling me this is our room. My room and adjacent room has an external door it was closed out while I am in. When I reported the incident to the reception I got the usual common answer it was something wrong in the system Katie Walsh, Guest Services / Front Office at Novotel London Blackfriars, responded to this review Dear Guest ,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologise once again for the distress caused during your stay. I completely understand how uncomfortable and concerning this situation must have been.As mentioned by the team during your stay, the guests involved had booked the interconnecting rooms and, unfortunately, due to a system error, their key card incorrectly activated access before the second room was ready. Regrettably, the explanation provided at the time was all that could be confirmed, as this was genuinely the result of an unexpected technical fault.We appreciate this does not lessen the impact of the experience you had, and this is certainly not the standard of service or security we aim to provide to our guests.As advised, we will continue to follow this up with you directly via email, and once again please accept our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused.Kind Regards,Katie Walsh Guest Service Manager

    Wonderful staff- nothing is too much trouble for them. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you want to avoid street/rail noise. Conveniently located near the southwark tube station.     Great staff. Love the sound system

    The hotel was within 5 minutes walk from the Southwark Station. Nearby has a Tesco Express and a Little Waitrose, which makes it convenient to get your essentials. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Executive Room. So, what some travel experts say about booking directly with he hotel and being in their loyalty programme is true. Room was on the top-floor and was quiet, although the view was not particularly spectacular. This didn't bother me because that wasn't the main purpose of my travel. The room wasoverall clean and tidy, with all the basic amenities and a Nespresso. Free water was available although I wish their room-service menu could have included soft drinks and etc. The most exciting thing for me was the Bose iPod docking station. Being a musician, I always miss having decent-quality sound when I stay in a hotel to work. It's good not to have to wear headphones all the time with the system there! I know this is a rather niche perk, but I wish more hotels would consider how a good sound/entertainment system could make the stay feel more like home.Overall, it's a very nice stay. And I would like to give special praise to Rami, who was very attentive and helpful during my check-in and check-out. He was also very patient in handling me request for a late check-out. Would also like to thank the evening manager who quickly responded (within 5 mins!) to my request for some extra milk for my coffee at 23:00. Hotels are generally becoming standardised, but it's these details that make someone become a fan!.
