    There are better hotels

Stayed here with my daughter due to the central location. It's reasonable if you just want to sleep here. I found the room grubby and they clearly cut costs. The voiles were ripped to shreds and the radiator in the bathroom was rusted. The bathroom had a horrible sewage smell. The young man on reception on our first day 24/05 was more interested in watching his phone than providing any help. Maybe some customer service training wouldn't go amiss. Older man was very pleasant. I wouldn't stay again

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and, honestly, it wasn’t worth the £160 per night price tag. The room itself was very small, and the bathroom was tiny. It didn’t have any of the basic amenities you’d expect — no kettle, no shampoo or conditioner, no tea or coffee facilities, and no breakfast provided. It really is just a room with beds, nothing more. If you want a coffee in the morning, be prepared to walk around 13 minutes to the nearest café and then back again. For the price, it’s disappointing, especially since there are plenty of cheaper hotels that offer these basic things. That said, the room was fine for what we needed — just somewhere to sleep. We were out most of the day, so it served its purpose as a place to rest our heads, but that’s about it. Overall, I’d rate our stay 4 out of 10 — okay for a short stay, but definitely not worth the money

Someone breaks into my room at 1AM!!!!! UNSAFE!! DO NOT BOOK!!

    rating17 Aug 2025

Someone breaks into my room at 1AM!!!!! UNSAFE!! DO NOT BOOK!!My friend and I got back to the hotel around 11pm+, getting ready for bed. We used a chair to block the door (since there was no double lock from inside). Around 1am, I heard someone scanning the door and trying to enter the room—the sound was SO CLOSE. We didn’t expect the unlocking noise to come from our door, because why would that happen? I thought maybe it was next door. But then the door started pushing against our chair, the chair hit the bathroom door, and the bathroom door slammed shut. That’s when we realized someone was BREAKING INTO our room!!!! We SCREAMED, and my friend quickly checked the door—it was OPEN!! We were so scared and didn’t get to check outside to see who it was.The receptionist showed no concern for our safety issue. Instead of helping, he told us we could leave if we felt unsafe and if we chose to stay, there would be no refund or compensation. His reaction was defensive and aggressive, which made the whole situation feel even more suspicious. This is not how a hotel should treat its guests, especially with their lack of duty of care.PLEASE DO NOT BOOK YOUR STAY WITH THEM!!!!!!

⚠️INTRUDER UNLOCKED OUR ROOM AT NIGHT - UNSAFE, AVOID THIS HOTEL⚠️

    rating17 Aug 2025

Our experience at OYO Townhouse was terrifying and unacceptable. In the middle of the night, someone unlocked our door and tried to enter our room. My friend and I were still awake when we heard our door open. The room didn’t have a secondary lock, so we improvised for extra security. The main door opened directly into the room, with the bathroom located immediately next to it. We placed a chair in front of the main door and left the bathroom door slightly open. That way, if someone tried to enter, the door would hit the chair first, and the chair would also knock against the bathroom door, making noise and alerting us immediately. This setup was the only way we could try to feel somewhat safe while in the room. To our horror, the chair was pushed and hit the bathroom door, confirming that someone was actively trying to come inside. We shouted which scared the intruder off but the fact remains, they had a working key to our room. This was not a random attempt to force the door and an enormous security failure. When we reported this to Joseph, the night receptionist, he was dismissive and unconcerned. He claimed no one could have entered at that time, refused to properly check the CCTV footage and kept giving us the wrong time frames. He acted evasive when we pressed for answers which made us even more suspicious, and ultimately insulted my friend. This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour from staff in a situation involving guest safety. What’s even more suspicious is that if it had been another guest mistakenly trying their key, the receptionist should have noticed them coming or going a few minutes earlier and mentioned it. This behaviour makes it clear that either there is extreme negligence, or something much more concerning is happening. In the morning, another guest on our floor told us they also experienced someone trying to force their door open the previous night. This clearly is not an isolated incident. As two women traveling alone, this situation left us unsafe, sleepless, and deeply disturbed and no staff made any genuine attempt to ensure our safety or peace of mind. Compensation was refused and the only “solution” offered was to leave the hotel at 2am with nowhere else to go.We filed a police report and we have video evidence of our interactions with staff, so our account cannot be dismissed, twisted, or misrepresented. This review is based entirely on our direct experience and is shared to warn other travelers for their safety. Until OYO investigates this issue fully, improves security (secondary locks, proper CCTV transparency), and addresses staff behaviour, this property is unsafe for travelers.

    Never going back

    rating11 Jul 2025

If you’re looking to spend a good amount of money on a terrible experience, this is the place. If this is considered Indian hospitality, I’d rather not see what it’s like when they’re actually being hostile. The room was tiny, uncomfortably hot, and the fan provided was completely ineffective—we could barely sleep due to the heat. The cleanliness was inconsistent: some areas were clean, while others were noticeably dirty. The towels had holes, and the toiletries didn’t feel like they cleaned anything at all.To make matters worse, our room door didn’t lock. When we went to the reception to report it, there was no one there—apparently, the receptionist also handles room duties. We waited about five minutes but eventually gave up. The issue wasn’t fixed until the following day.The only positive I can mention is that the staff were friendly. But overall, the experience was truly disappointing.
