  Confirmed change, then refused without explanation

  I had a very disappointing experience with Park International Hotel and Booking.com regarding my reservation (Ref: 6997693898).In June 2025, I made a non-refundable booking for 23–26 July. Immediately after booking, I realized I had selected the wrong dates and contacted the hotel. I was clearly told (and later received written confirmation via Booking.com) that a one-time date change would be possible, subject to availability.I submitted my request on time, but instead of a proper response, my case was delayed multiple times. Eventually, I was offered a much higher price (£939.60), about £295 more than what I originally paid.What is particularly concerning is that during this entire period, the same room category remained available online at lower prices. I even offered to switch to a standard room for around €685 (close to my original payment), which was clearly available — but this was ignored.In the end, my request was rejected without properly addressing any of my proposals. Even more confusing, I was told there was no availability, while rooms were still visible online — only at higher prices.This lack of transparency and inconsistent communication made the whole experience very frustrating. I expected much better customer service from both the hotel and Booking.com.

  The hotel is in an excellent position on Cromwell Rd Kensington and so close to Tube stations, museums, supermarkets and other tourist attractions. My room was very large and overlooked busy Cromwell Rd but was very quiet. Facilities in the room were excellent and I had a very comfortable stay. Staff were all very friendly, efficient and accommodating and would have no hesitation in booking this hotel again 😊

  Solid bang for buck

  Comfy bed. Decently clean room and good service from the staff. Solid location close to the gloucster road underground station.I would have given this hotel 5 stars if the room didn't keep heating up all the time, causing us to need to use the AC (noisy). The only window seemed broken. The rooms doors are weighty and as such made a lot of nosie when shut. Hotel was quiet for the most part, with the exception of guests entering and leaving their room. We opted out of breakfast to save some money. The hotel gym is small and limited but it gets the job done to maintain your gains. This hotel is perfectly fine for the price.

  A nightmare of a hote away from this place -

  this hotel is NOT as advertised. We arrived to a smelly, moldy room with filthy carpets and even stained walls. We could barely breathe the air in the room. Unfolding the towel to dry my hands I found it to be stained with black smudges and what appeared to be a blood stain (see photos). The ancient carpets are filthy, and loose seem to have no purpose other than covering up mold (see photos). This is NOT a 4 star hotel. The workers at the hotel appeared very stressed by all the complaints from guests (while we were at the desk we overheard other guests complaining about lights not working, filthy rooms, and broken bathroom fixtures). They could not offer any other rooms, and even if they could they are all having problems because the hotel was purchased a while ago and is under renovation - though the workers said the remodeling is taking a very long time. I did not observe any actual construction going on. I felt l was living inside one a HBS case studies from graduate school in which I could only conclude that one of 2 things is going on - either the owners have zero operating capital to make good on their plans to remodel and are hoping to scrape enough together from tourists who likely will not return anyway....or (and I think the most likely) is that the owners have no intention of remodeling the hotel and are getting whatever $$ they can out of the building while allowing it to crumble, and drop further in value, when it can be short sold for pennies on the dollar to another entity" while they write off the loss against their other investments. Unfortunately, they don't care about the customers whom they are screwing or their employees who appear stressed and miserable. We checked out of the hotel and found a lovely hotel just around the corner with excellent rooms, very happy and welcoming staff at the same price as the poor excuse of a hotel . I asked the manager who owns the hotel and was told it is Fraser Hospitality and all management direction comes from Singapore - nice, very nice. Looking back, the first clue should have been the scratched up and tattered furniture at the reception area and the wooden exterior over the entrance, which appears to be rotting from underneath. Since they can't even manage to fix such an obvious telltale sign, they must not care about this hotel, their workers, or customers. There are many lovely hotels all around - don't let the Park International ruin your holiday in London!
