    Booked a room for 3 people. Sofa bed wasn’t out ready and didn’t have any bed linen on it. Lots of stains on the mattress of the sofa bed, had to call down to reception for bedding and they delivered it up but we had to make the bed. Loads of dust in the room, generally very dirty. Bathroom was very crusty. For the price i wouldnt recommend

    Just back from 2 nights in the Park Plaza Waterloo. Delighted with our choice of hotel, for sightseeing and a theatre show. We booked an Executive twin room which was spacious and comfortable, and had a good view over the city, including the Shard. The beds and pillows were really comfortable and the AC worked fairly well. And the sound-proofing on the rooms was very good. The only thing that let the room down slightly was that in the shower, the hot water took ages to come through and was only luke warm rather than hot.Breakfast was decent with the usual range of cooked items, cereal, fruit and pastries. We did notice that after about 8.15 a large queue for breakfast developed so it was good to get down slightly earlier, although there were plenty of tables so everyone did get seated. The hotel is a stone’s throw from Lambeth North tube station, which makes it really easy to get out and about. We went to the Playhouse Theatre to see Cabaret one night and it really was the simplest journey to and from the theatre. We noticed that there are two other Park Plaza hotels in close proximity (County Halls and Westminster Bridge), and although initially we thought that they were slightly closer to the main attractions when we were walking, we soon realised that they are both beside very busy and potentially noisy roads, whereas the Park Plaza Waterloo was set back slightly from the road which I think would have made it quieter.Staff were helpful, no particular delays with check-in despite other reviews we had read. And a luggage storage facility which was helpful on departure day when we still had some sightseeing to do. All in all, if I go back to London I’ll stay here again.     Spa Incident Poorly Handled and Refund Never Received

    What should have been a relaxing family stay turned into one of the most uncomfortable hotel experiences I have had.The most serious issue occurred in the spa on the morning of our departure. After a swim with my daughter, we discovered that the locker containing all of our belongings would not open. We immediately sought assistance, only to find that no spa staff were available. A member of the cleaning team advised us to wait while other tasks were completed, and when help eventually arrived, we were told nothing could be done.At that point, my daughter and I were left stranded without access to our clothes, shoes, phones or personal belongings. We were forced to walk through the hotel barefoot and wrapped only in towels in search of someone willing or able to help us. As a parent, being placed in that situation with a child was both humiliating and distressing.What concerns me most is not that a locker malfunctioned—equipment failures can happen anywhere. The real issue was the complete lack of support when guests found themselves in a vulnerable situation. A hotel has a responsibility to provide a safe and secure environment and to ensure that staff are available to assist when problems arise. On this occasion, that responsibility was not met.The hotel later acknowledged in writing that the situation was "completely unacceptable" and admitted there had been shortcomings in guest care. Compensation was offered and I was subsequently informed that a refund had been issued. However, despite this confirmation, the refund was never received.The issue was never the locker itself. It was the lack of assistance, the embarrassment of having to walk through a busy hotel in towels with a child, and the failure to honour the resolution that was later promised.
