  Fine but smelly - and dont bother pre-booking add ons

  The stay was fine… certainly for the price. A word of advice though… Don’t bother paying for additional extras like bottom bunk, padlock, towels etc when booking as the hostel doesnt get notified of this. Fortunately the guy who checked me in believed me and I got my extras - but it’s certainly not guaranteed. My only other criticism was the smell. The bathroom smelt really bad - and not in the way you’d expect(!) My dorm mates could have done with a serious wash as well. I’m thinking that if it’s possible to request that guests are considerate to each other when it comes to noise it should be easy enough to request the same when it comes to personal hygiene. Having said all that Im sure I’ll be back. Where else can you stay in London for £12/night???

  Very Very Bad. It's a Homeless Shelter...

  Very strange indeed. The only reason I've not given 1 stars is because the price was very low. Unfortunately, however, the price is very reflective of the property and service and encourages many unsavoury characters to book.To begin with, the downstairs environment which is also a public bar is absolutely grim. I guess the only reason cliente visit is because of the pubs location, directly adjacent to the underground station, as without this, there is absolutely no benefit whatsoever. The staff allow homeless junkies in expectedly unhygienic conditions to stay in the pub stinking like urine and faeces. One in particular had her shoes on the seats whilst requesting free coca cola. When asked to leave (not enforced) they hide in the toilets and nothing is done. Irrespective of this, the place absolutely stank the entire 4 days I was there and you can see dirt and grime everywhere.Many guests are also semi-homeless. The guest in the bunk above me had just left prison and stank out the room on my first night with a foot fungal infection. The same person also stole my socks. A few days later an alcoholic urinated on the mattress in the adjacent bed and was removed from the hostel. This really isn't a place for tourists at all and it is the only place I've stayed in half a decade where there is a sizable chance of having your belongings stolen. Even with lockers and my own beefy lock, I wasn't comfortable leaving my bag.The room was clean as were the showers, however, and the toilets were also cleaned, but due to such guests they quickly became filthy. Thru give you your first pint for half price which is a very reasonable offer and the staff were at least friendly.Basically though...do not stay here.

  While the location was useful, I would not recommend staying at the Green Man. There was no hygiene service. The 'secure' luggage storage door stayed open 24/7. When I booked into an all-female dorm I was put into a mixed dorm. Nothing was done when snorers kept two entire rooms up all night. While staff were generally eager to help, no action was ever taken. The atmosphere was dingy and off-putting.

  Perfect location near Euston. clean rooms and great food made our trip to London affordable. Three of us had the whole room so we didn’t need to share so very private. The breakfast was great and at a great price
