    A Budget Inn

    rating19 May 2026

Some random thoughts:1) Someone's hair easily spotted all over the bathroom's white walls when we checked in. Told front desk ( later with photos taken at the scene when repeated requests to clean them were futile ) as well as left notes to housekeeping yet the strands were never removed.2) No green tea sachets and was bluntly told " we don't have green tea ". This is Marriott!3) Telly not working properly and later fixed; cracked walls along doorframes with paint worn off. 4) Housekeeping never saw the broken chair until we reported it to front desk. 5) Stains on faucet and shower hose are indelible.6) Room is small--bed directly placed beside bathroom with a very narrow gap in between where one can hear everything that's going on inside. The bed functions as an extended space to put pjs so it is THAT close, plus bathroom is small.7) Shower drainage slow & blocked even when lid is removed. Prob still lingered on day 7. Lucky to have powerful water pressure and three shower jet settings are forceful. Bathroom door is hard to open once locked.8) lipstick/ tea stains on cups not washed off even when offloaded fresh from dishwasher.9) Pantry with kettle and coffee machine. Fridge and dishwasher in room. Washing machine (free) is downstairs.10) Borough Market, London Bridge, The Shard and Borough tube station close by.11) Bed and quilt very comfy and daily housekeeping does not include fresh linen and towels.12) Free 24/7 gym but toilet there is musty and smelly. Unacceptable

    rating17 May 2026

Not even close to living up to expectations, unfortunately. We stayed here as a family of four in one of the Studio Suites with two double beds that are supposed to be one of their best rooms. Let’s start with the good parts. Large and spacious roomNice kitchen with essentials Many electrical socketsNice view. Now for the rest.- The door to the room from the main hallway had such a large gap in it that you could see people walking by outside in the hallway when it was dark in the room. - because of this and vey “thin walls”. The noice level was not up to any standard. - There was moldy spots in the showers.- The showers was nearly unusable. Because of the constant fluctuation in water temperature. The water temperature went up and down all the time every few seconds and you couldn’t do anything about it. It was the same in both of the showers. That’s totally unacceptable for even a two star hotel. Let alone one at this price point.- The layout of our room was not good at all. We had 20cm of space between the bed and the entrance to one of the bathrooms. Which meant that you needed to do a crab walk to get to the bathroom as well as every family member stumbling at least once on the bed legs. Everything seems to be at the wrong place. - There were several scrapes and marks.- The breakfast was sub par at best. We were warned that the hotels in London was sub standard compared to other destinations. That’s why we spent more money on a “good” hotel and room. To get this standard at this high cost is just unacceptable.
