  Hotel is Fire Hazard + “Upgraded” to Faulty Room: Stay Away from Room 107

  UPDATE 14 JUNE:Following the issue on my first night below, I had the most unfortunate experience last night of realising that this hotel is a fire hazard.At around midnight, I started smelling smoke reminiscent of cigarettes coming from the hallway, which was weird because the entire hotel complex is supposedly non-smoking.When I called the front desk for them to check, even the person acknowledged that he can smell the cigarette smell in the hallway. Unfortunately there’s nothing he can do since “he can’t see anyone smoking” therefore he didn’t have evidence of people smoking and apologise because “the smoke alarm should’ve gone off, but tonight it doesn’t”.Now I realize this hotel is a fire hazard because clearly the smoke alarm doesn’t work even when there’s smoke. So please: STAY AWAY, AWAY, AWAY from this hotel.———Basically, if you’re offered Room 107, don’t accept the room and ask for a different one!I stayed here on 11-14 June. Upon check-in, because I'm a Diamond Elite member, I was upgraded to a 1-Bedroom Suite (room 107). At first, I was happy. But it turned out to be a massive disappointment because it shows how badly-maintained this hotel is.The air-conditioning system in the living area of the room works just fine, but the one in the bedroom doesn't work at all. While temperature in the living area is able to be maintained at a comfortable 20 Celsius, the bedroom was at a rather balmy 22.5-23 Celsius even at night. Even worse, the window can't be opened as it's completely locked and the management doesn't permit the opening of the window.The management said that they can only reset the system and see if the air-conditioning works, which it doesn't. Their only response was that they can't do anything other than wait the entire night until the next morning, when they'll call the maintenance to fix the air-con.Not so sure what the fuss is all about with this hotel. Great, spacious room? Sure. Well-maintained? Definitely not. They upgraded me for the sake of "looking good" and they gave me a room that they know well has a malfunctioning air-conditioning. Definitely not a good first impression as it's borderline insulting rather than being respectful.

  Everything was amazing. Rooms were clean, great location, friendly staff. Stayed during the week, on some of the nights they had a social hour with an amazing spread to choose from. Breakfast was also included with the room, that had many delicious options as well. I also used the laundry room, which was great going home with clean clothes.   We really liked this hotel. The workers were really nice and let us check out at 3pm instead of 12pm because our flight leaves at 8pm.   Excellent option for London stays, especially for more than one night

  Excellent option for staying in London. Staff are all very helpful and welcoming. My room was clean, well appointed and very practical, with the kitchenette facilities particularly useful if you are staying for a few nights and don't want to eat out. Having free coffee, tea and water available in the lounge area is a nice touch. My stay had to be unexpectedly extended, the staff were very helpful with this and the free laundry facilities came in very handy. Good location, quiet, but not far from central London and tube/national rail and bus links at Vauxhall. I would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.   The place to stay in Vauxhall

  Great value in quieter neighborhood, with access to the tube at Vauxhall station. Great local restaurants within walking distance. Staff is very warm and welcoming, always available to help with any questions. Full English breakfast with cold options as well.
