    Wrong hotel for the elderly.

    rating10 May 2026

Good location. Hotel unsuitable for elderly partially disabled couple. Lift out of order and stairs rather a struggle. Room very small and hardly room to get about. No easy chair to sit on. Photograph seems to give no indication of how small the room is. The room and bathroom were well equipped but all you could do if you were in the room for any length of time was lay on the bed. Breakfast a basic small buffet perfectly adequate although dining area again quite small down in the basement. Antonio P, Guest Services / Front Office at The Blandford Hotel, responded to this review Dear Rob, Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed our location and found the room and bathroom well equipped. We’re very sorry the lift being out of order caused difficulties during your stay, and we appreciate your comments regarding the room size, seating, and breakfast area. Your feedback is valuable and will help us improve both our guest experience and how we present our rooms online.

More like a 3 star hotel

    rating30 Apr 2026

This hotel felt like a 3 star hotel. It was April and the room was freezing cold, the quality of the breakfast was extremely disappointing. Antonio P, Guest Services / Front Office at The Blandford Hotel, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We regret that your room felt uncomfortably cold during your visit in April. Guest comfort is very important to us, and we will be reviewing our heating systems to ensure rooms are kept at an appropriate temperature regardless of the season. We are also disappointed to hear that the breakfast did not meet your expectations. We strive to offer a varied and high-quality selection, so your comments will be shared with our kitchen team for improvement. We truly value your feedback as it helps us identify areas where we can do better. If you would be willing to share more details about your stay, we would greatly appreciate it so we can address your concerns more thoroughly. Please provide us more information of your stay due we don't have any details to find your reservation in order to address it.We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide a much-improved experience.Kind regards,Antonio - Management.

    We expected so much more

    rating19 Apr 2026

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Chosen mostly due to it's central location and 4 star rating. I have been unable to verify this star rating on any UK ratings organisation. We arrived very early and could store our luggage as promised. Returned at 14.50 and was duly checked in to our upgraded room as booked. Very little communal space and a tiny lift. All as expected from previous guest reviews. Room was spotlessly clean, as is the entire hotel. The Housekeeping Manager is really on the ball. Modern and functional even if the bathroom is very small for an upgraded room. Then it all goes wrong :A/C does not work.Fridge does not work.Window sill in the room is loose.Reported this as we went out in the evening. Was met by staff on our return, confirming all of our points were correct. I was amazed that the response was" I will report it ".Staying, as we did for 2 nights, we went out on day 2 expecting the issues to be rectified on our return. Not so. Nothing had changed. This hotel is in Central London just off Baker St so you can imagine 24/7 outside noise. We had to have our room windows open as the space was to hot otherwise due to no a/c. The Hotel does not have a bar so we purchased wine etc from Waitrose and took to the room. The lack of the fridge meant it quickly went to an undrinkable temperature.I hate to give this review as this could be such a good place to stay but no remedial action was takenManagement had ample time to repair A/C, change the fridge etc. Offer us fans or change our room. None of this happened.Upon check out we reiterated our concerns and asked for an e mail address for the Management company. The lady that arranged our taxi for us assured me that any correspondence to the hotel automatically copied in the Management company. When I sent my e mail it was replied to only by the exact same person we spoke to on checkout.Do not upgrade your room here as services mentioned above do not work. Before posting this I have given the hotel ample opportunity to either resolve the faults or, at the very least, offer me a token gesture of goodwill. I would have been happy with just the difference between their small room and the upgraded one I booked. This has been ignored at every point.Such a shame. Next trip we will stay at the Holmes or the Marylebone in the hope that they are managed more diligently. Antonio P, Guest Services / Front Office at The Blandford Hotel, responded to this review Dear Barandbee,Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review following your recent stay with us.We are genuinely pleased to hear that you found the hotel to be spotlessly clean and appreciated the efforts of our housekeeping team, as well as our central location. However, it is very disappointing to read about the issues you experienced in your room and, more importantly, the lack of effective response during your stay. Please accept our sincere apologies for the malfunctioning air conditioning issue you reported. The issue with the fridge was reported and our maintenance team verifyed it was in working order, it just needs time to cool it due are minibar, not mini fridge, with the power activated (card must be inserted at all times in the entrance slot. If it is removed, AC, minibar and any other power device will stop to work). You are absolutely right to expect that these concerns should have been addressed with suitable alternatives.Your feedback has been shared with our Central Office Management Team to ensure immediate review of the issues you encountered, as well as to improve how we handle and escalate guest concerns in real time.We truly regret that your experience did not match the high standards we strive to provide, especially as you recognised the hotel’s potential. We would welcome the opportunity to restore your confidence in us, should you consider staying again in the future.Kind regards,Antonio - Management.

    NOT for families

    rating24 Feb 2026

NOT AT ALL suited for families. The "family room" is not family friendly. The price unjustified. Two adults and a 10-year-old really struggled to get ready mornings and evenings as the there wasnt enough floor space to walk on!two of us needed to climb on top of the beds to let the third person get into the bathroom. we each had a backpack and a small suitcase. together with our winter coats and heavy boots it felt so uncomfortable and packed.a buggy would not fit.a real shame to mislead bookers as it is a well situated hotel.only recommend for single occupancy or couples who don't mind being in tiny rooms in tiny beds.the breakfast area is below floor level, not really worth mentioning or trying. we complained without being taken seriously. the answer received after chasing twice: "note that all room features, including the exact size and available amenities, are clearly specified on our website at the time of booking. We always encourage our guests to review these details carefully to ensure the room meets their expectations."Thus, dear reader, know your hotel room sizes next time when booking any accommodation and do not expect any compensation. Antonio P, Guest Services / Front Office at The Blandford Hotel, responded to this review Dear 523klarab,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, particularly regarding the room size and comfort for your family. We understand how challenging it must have felt to manage luggage, winter clothing, and daily routines in a space that did not feel adequate for three people. Your description of the difficulty moving around the room and accessing the bathroom is certainly not the experience we want our guests to have. Our family rooms are designed to accommodate the specified number of guests, and as mentioned in our correspondence, the room dimensions and features are outlined on our website. That said, we sincerely regret that the space did not feel suitable for your needs, and we appreciate your honest perspective. Feedback like yours helps us better understand how our rooms function in real-life situations, especially for families traveling with luggage and winter gear. We’re also sorry to hear that you felt your concerns were not taken seriously. This is never our intention, and we apologize if our response came across as dismissive. We always aim to communicate clearly and respectfully with our guests. We do appreciate your positive note about the hotel’s location, and we regret that other aspects of your stay overshadowed this. Your comments regarding the breakfast area have also been noted.Thank you again for sharing your experience. We wish you and your family all the best in your future travels.Kind regards,Antonio-Management.

    Great location

A perfect base for an overnight stay as a family for a theatre trip.We were in room 44 which was clean, modern and had a lovely bathroom with standing shower too. The lift up to the higher floor was welcome and the staff were polite and helpful upon check in.Good quality WiFi meant I could work from my room no issues at all and we had a good, well balanced breakfast before check out too with lot of choice.
