    Lovely little place and perfect for Hyde Park :)

    Four family members and I stayed at Duke Rooms last night and we were very happy with our stay. Lovely polite staff, clean, comfortable and air-conditioned rooms. The aircon units were bliss in this heatwave! The pub downstairs is decent too! Please note the rooms are up three or four very steep staircases so wouldnt be suitable for disabled or immobile people. Hyde Park was a few minutes away in an Uber but easily walkable. Just a few mins from Edgeware Road tube station too. We loved our stay and will definitely be returning :)

    Don't make a reservation here. Their website and booking pages are full of deception. They DO NOT offer the amenities they claim. They are nonresponsive. They don't answer their phone. They don't respond to emails. Horribly under-staffed. They will trap you in and then refuse to provide a refund when you are unhappy about their deceptions.

    Disappointing for the cost

    Disappointing stay.Only 1 skinny pillow and really uncomfortable mattress. Sheet hadn’t been tucked in and there were stains on the duvet cover, when I pulled back the duvet there looked like crumbs in the bed. Hairdryer didn’t work and it was quickly apparent why, wires exposed from it to the wall. Sink struggled to drain. Walk to the room hallways need repainting as really shabby. Poor value for money and I won’t be returning. Checked out at 9am and no staff present to raise concerns

    The location was great and was walkable to so many places. which is why I chose it and the staff were very friendly and helpful. But that's where the positives end. All the sockets in the room were faulty and I couldn't charge my phone without having to prop things under the plug to hold it in position. Initially I though it was my charger that was faulty, even though it had worked perfectly in the airport that morning, and the staff said they were not aware of any faults so I went and spent £35 on a new charger which then didn't work properly either so eventually figured out it was the sockets that were faulty. One window didn't have net curtains for privacy and the one that did they were ripped and dirty, there were scuff marks on all the walls and worse still there was a clump hair on the bathroom ceiling! The door to the downstairs bar had been kicked in with the handle hanging off and glass shattered, and perhaps for some time as there looks to have been some attempt to repair at some stage. I went for a drink in the bar (public bar on the street) and found myself to be the only customer there all night, on a Friday night in central London. That in itself tells a story.

    This is a slightly strange review, but I feel like I need to give credit to the man on the phone on the evening of 3rd Jan, who was so lovely and helpful. We had a mixup as when we booked, the hotel was having maintenance, we were told on the phone we could stay in a hotel or get a refund. We chose a different hotel and then rang back up to change our mind, to which he was really understanding and told us we can have a full refund. I requested it on booking.com put there was a problem on their end. This poor man then spent 45 mins on the phone to booking.com at 11:30 at night trying to get us a refund, and was so patient and helpful. He rang back to assure me I would've a refund, and was just so accommodating when most people in his position wouldn't be!
