    Not good value for money

    rating29 May 2026

Thin bedding; shabby, stained furniture and decor; poor shower pressure, no way to secure the door at night. Staff with attitude, no offer of help with luggage up all the stairs, no lift, fitness or food provision and cheap tired rooms; I’m baffled as to how this can be labelled a 4*, it’s more of a basic 2/3*. Great location and nice old building but there are better quality, safer experiences to be had in hotels nearby for similar £ or less.

    perfect location

We were just in London for two nights to surprise a friend, Herby VS, who was singing in the Marquis, Covent Garden. We wanted a hotel close by and this was perfect. It was also in a quiet side street. Yes a quiet street in central London, amazing. It really was perfectly situated. The room was nice, everything as it should be, clean, tea and coffee making facilities, a nice bathroom. No restaurant, but not needed either due to it's location, everything was close to hand.

    Disaster

    rating05 Apr 2026

We booked a queen room several months before our trip to London. When we arrived at the hotel the person in the reception told us that they had booked to many rooms and that we therefore only could get a room in the basement without windows.. When we then asked tog et the room we ordered the bluntely told us that this is what they got and if we dont like it we can get our money back and book somewhere else.. When we saw the room which had no ventilation, poor heating and 2 tvs (non was working), we asked for a refund to book a room somwhere else. Then they changed their mind and said that since it was booked through Hotels.com this is non-refundable..THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM and they are overbooking their hotel and then do this.. I would not recommend anyone to use this hotel since then you might be a victim of this. The area is great but use any of the other hotels in the area, it’s just not worth taking the risk.

Not sure who writes the positive comments on this hotel

    rating29 Mar 2026

Location is the good bit. And exterior is pretty. Reception staff not very friendly but didn’t have much to do with them. Corridors dark and decor tired. Room partly below street level so dark. Furniture extremely shabby and tired. Very little sleep due the hardest bed I have ever slept on with flat old pillows. Noisy a/c. This is not 4 star hotel

    Disappointing, shabby without the chic

    rating27 Mar 2026

For £820 for three nights this was not what we were expecting. Curtains hanging off the pole, dirty walls and edges of rooms and scruffy furniture. We informed the reception staff who said they could move us into a ‘better room’ the following night, which they did. It was marginally better but still not great. Location was good but there are nicer (and not more expensive) hotels nearby.
