    The hotel was in an excellent location to walk to attractions. The hotel and public areas were great. The guest room left a lot to be desired, and very small. Terrible odor the entire time, floors squeaked and buckled with every step, shower backed up terribly, bed was way too soft. The staff were not very friendly and rarely greeted guests as they walked in.     I have been to London many times. The Grand has a 5 star location in London. It is walking distance to the Palace (literally around the corner), it is a 5 minute walk to Soho and the night life and a 5 minute walk to the theater and best shopping in the city. Last but not least its attentive staff always takes a personal approach to your needs. This hotel hits the mark at all levels for a traveler's needs.     Nalin at the front desk superb. We had a free upgrade and a bottle of wine to celebrate my 50th. He was very accommodating and asked about our weekend.
