    One night experience

    rating11 Jun 2023

To be honest, I didn't really feel the safest being there, as a solo traveler. Thankfully I was only there for one night. Props to the check in guy for not charging me the early check-in fee though. Five stars to him!

Great Value for Money!I am very Happy and impressed about the level of cleanliness of my room, and the updating and refurbishing done to the rooms. The staff at the reception was super helpful and very kind, especially JP who went above and beyond ti arrange me a night taxi

    Run away!

    rating14 Dec 2022

Awful! Being awake each mornings around 7am because of the noise of the builders refurbishing the place ( we thought people were in our room). We had a power cut one morning. We didn’t had hot water on the Friday morning. Both of our lights near the bedside tables didn’t work. We said each time those issues… all we got was a : « sorry » but nothing else has been done. I wrote to the hotel after our stay to say all those issues and they just responded again with a «  sorry » and suggested that we could have asked for a room change but now there is nothing they can do… so now I’m supposed to do their job and know if the hotel is fully booked or not? We also had difficulties each time to enter our room because the door was blocked or something. Breakfast was supposed also to be included… but we never had it ! Like I said we really tried to talk about this to the staff but no one cared, one member just said «  write us on booking »… worst service ever!

If you can, stay literally anywhere else

I stayed in this hotel - fortunately - for just one night. More than that and I would have asked a refund. Don't know where to start. Feels more like a detention centre than a hotel. Actually, detention centre would probably have newer carpets. Here's a few of the features you might enjoy - Smallest TV I have ever seen in any hotel, anywhere, ever. Located on top of the wardrobe in the room (that is not big enough to swing a cat). But don't fear, you won't be using the TV as the room didnt have a remote in it. I asked for a remote at reception and a guy in a turban handed me a remote which didn't work. When I took it back to reception, he came back again later, this time with two remotes with only one set of batteries. Neither of them worked either, so I gave up trying to watch TV. The carpets throughout are threadbare. Must be at least 20 years old. The room smelled of smoke, and was dirty. The lights on the headboard were broken, and you could activate or de-activate them by banging your head on the headboard (Which was at least funny, for about 5 minutes). This was a double room, but they provided only a single cup for coffee, and no spoon to stir it with. People upstairs were noisy. Windows rattled in the wind and you could hear the sound of aeroplanes and cars in the street. Outside green area out the front of the hotel was totally overgrown with weeds and left a bad first impression. Felt more like a community centre on a council housing estate. The room featured a safe, or at least, the superficial impersonation of a safe. It looked like it once had a control panel, that had probably been removed decades ago. The shower was broken. The wifi password paper had a note on it from management saying that "do not use the internet too much". Seriously. I'm not joking. Can't recommend staying here.

Staff very polite - but this is not a hotel we would recommend.

We urgently needed accommodation as a member of the family had been airlifted to Kings College Hospital. Needed to stay overnight and this was the closest hotel we could book at very short notice. For just over £80, and at short notice in London, our expectations were not high. On the plus side:- 1. the night reception staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. 2. the bed linen and towels were clean. 3. Pretty close to the hospital (30 minutes walk. On the negative:- 1. Very "tired" carpets and furnishings, 2. the TV didn't work. 3. There was mould on the walls and there was excessive noise from adjoining room. Overall I would not advise anyone to book here unless you were really in a bind - like we were! If you are planning your visit to this area ahead of time, look for somewhere else. As I said, Cental London prices meant that £80 was very cheap, but you get what you pay for on that basis. That said, we were grateful for a place to lay our heads after a very stressful day and the staff member who met and booked us in was very polite.
