Warm & Friendly, would differently stay again.

    rating09 Jun 2026

My husband & I spent 4 nights in London, after visiting the Cotswolds & York. We had not been in London since 2002, and found many changes....crazy busy.So this hotel was a small haven away from the madness. It is just across the street from Russell Square Park, and just a 10 minute walk from The British Museum.Good bus and tube service to anywhere in the city. The staff at this hotel are friendly, kind and genuine, they are there to help you with anything. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Lovely linens o the beds too. We were near the back of the building, so very quiet. Our room was ample in size, as was the bathroom and small walk in closet, also a small desk area in the corner of the room. There were lovely bathroom amenities, a small fridge ( with real cream for your coffee) and coffee and tea supplies. The Library is a lovely place for a cup of tea or glass of wine after a day of sightseeing.Breakfast is ordered from a small menu, but nice selection, and ample food.A special thank you goes to Anas & Erika, for making our stay extra special!

Boutique stay surrounded by Bloomsbury charm

    rating28 May 2026

From the British Museum to Oxford Street, several iconic attractions in London can be easily explored from the Morton Hotel. While Russell Square tube station is around the corner, visitors can have a lovely time just strolling through the university district, the beautiful squares and the quaint streets of Bloomsbury. As reception is on the lower level, entry is monitored with a buzzer system. A standard room features high ceilings and literary-themed décor, as well as a spacious washroom with good shower pressure and temperature. For light sleepers, rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy, and shifts in hallway air pressure tend to rattle entry doors. Other minor annoyances include excessive decorative pillows and enormous bath towels. With a range of restaurants and even a Waitrose nearby, many food options are within walking distance, but a stop at Fortitude Bakehouse is a must.

Cozy elegance in the heart of Bloomsbury

    rating15 May 2026

The Morton Hotel is in an ideal location, in the heart of Bloomsbury on Russell Square and across the street from the Russell Sq. tube station. Though it's a busy intersection, at night the hotel was very quiet. The hotel itself is lovely and as others have said, the staff is excellent. I felt a little chilly the first night (no doubt due to 16' ceilings!) and they brought two effective space heaters up to the apartment. The kitchenette was well equipped, with fridge, dishwasher, cooktop, tea and coffee provided, and a toaster! I especially appreciated the extra touches, like top-end tea-bags and even a little bottle of milk for the tea. I also loved the cozy library bar in the basement. I would definitely stay here again. Hotel Manager, Owner at Morton Hotel, responded to this review Dear Glenda,Thank you for writing a review of your recent visit and for recommending our hotel. We’re delighted you found our team so attentive and enjoyed the peaceful nights despite our central spot. Great hotel experience in Bloomsbury

    rating04 May 2026

I lived in Bloomsbury for nearly a decade, so I tend to be quite particular when it comes to the area and accommodation standards. The Morton Hotel delivers a genuinely excellent experience. Its location is hard to beat, right by Russell Square and the Piccadilly Line, with easy access to Holborn (Central Line) and Tottenham Court Road (Elizabeth Line). Whether you’re visiting for business or exploring London, it’s an ideal base. The building is attractive from the outside and very well maintained inside. Reception staff are consistently polite, welcoming and helpful, and the lounge area is tastefully decorated, creating a pleasant first impression. Although there is only one lift, it’s fast, which makes a real difference if you’re staying on higher floors. I stayed twice, in January and April 2026, and both rooms were spacious, spotless and full of character, with a subtle London feel. The bathrooms were also generously sized and well equipped with amenities. Nice touches like an espresso machine with capsules, cookies and welcome treats added to the overall experience. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. Overall, I was very pleased with both stays and would happily return.
