Hotel is centrally located, within walking distance to Embankment and Charing Cross tube stations. Easy walking distance to Leicester Square, Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square (all within 10 mins walk) and cross the bridge to the London Eye! Perfect location to be. There are better hotels in the same area

    rating14 Jun 2026

On first impressions the hotel looks nice, but given the room rates there are better hotels in the neighbourhood. I had no hot running water on one morning and poor customer service, i.e. once I reported it, no one told me if or when it was going to be fixed and I ended up having to leave for work without it being resolved. Guest Service Executive, Guest Services / Front Office at The Royal Horseguards, responded to this review Dear edwina178, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we are pleased that your initial impression of the hotel was positive, we are sorry to learn about the issue you experienced with the hot water and the lack of communication regarding its resolution. Your comments have been shared with the relevant teams as opportunities like this help us improve both our maintenance response and guest communication. We regret that we fell short on this occasion We hope we may have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide the high standard of stay that we are known for. Many thanks, Jennelyn - Guest Services Executive

    Quintessential London

    rating13 Jun 2026

Located in a great central location, this property is what you would expect from a grand dame of a London Hotel. We were greeted warmly at check-in and our bags were stowed until our room was ready later in the day. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom and other amenities were very good. The bed was very comfortable. One item of note is that we had booked a river view room and unless you are on one of the top floors,(higher than 5) you will not have a view of the river due to the beautiful trees in the garden below. The breakfast buffet was quite nice with a variety of offerings. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to the doorman (I can't remember his name) who greeted you like you were a guest in his home every time you left and returned to the property. The concierge staff is also incredibly helpful. This property was a great choice for our visit to London. Guest Service Executive, Guest Services / Front Office at The Royal Horseguards, responded to this review Dear Cory049, Thank you for your fantastic review! I am thrilled that you enjoyed the London experience during your stay with us. It is wonderful to hear that our central location, spacious room, comfortable bed, breakfast selection, and historic character all contributed to a memorable visit. We are especially pleased that our team made such a positive impression. Your comments about the warm welcome from our doorman, the helpful concierge team, and the friendly service throughout the hotel mean a great deal to us. Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We are thrilled that we were part of your London visit and look forward to welcoming you back for another exceptional stay. Many thanks, Jennelyn - Guest Services Executive

Great hotel in a great location

    rating13 Jun 2026

We stayed here for three nights with family members to show them the central London sights. I worked in Whitehall for over 15 years but naturally had never stayed in the area. The hotel is very comfortable and in a prime position to experience all the sights e.g. Buckingham Palace, 10 Downing Street, Horseguards Parade, Westminster Abbey etc. There was an issue with our booking on arrival whereby the two room upgrades I had booked were not recorded on the hotel’s system but this was very quickly resolved by the team at reception, in particular the Rooms Manager, Jorge. This was an error on the part of the travel company, NOT the hotel. Given that this was the weekend when the Trooping of the Colour was due to take place the staff worked wonders to accommodate us in two upgraded rooms. Guest Service Executive, Guest Services / Front Office at The Royal Horseguards, responded to this review Dear StiggyMUFC, Thank you for your fantastic review! I am thrilled that you and your family enjoyed your stay and were able to take advantage of our location while exploring London's iconic landmarks. We are especially pleased that Jorge and our reception team were able to quickly resolve the booking issue, particularly during such a busy weekend. Your kind recognition of their efforts is greatly appreciated and will be shared with the team. Thank you once again for your lovely comments. We hope to welcome you and your family back again soon. Many thanks, Jennelyn - Guest Services Executive
