    Good hotel for travel

    rating09 May 2026

Very convenient hotel for Gatwick good price and brilliant you can leave your car . The worst part is the bed we stayed in room 220 and it was like a trampoline and very hard . We had very little sleep . This is an easy fix with mattress toppers . Food was great value just a shame about the bed . Manager Manager, General Manager at Russ Hill Hotel Gatwick, responded to this review Thank you for your comments. we will review the beds.

5 out of 5, I booked this hotel last minute and got it at a bargin price sub £50 over the bank holiday when others were 20/30 more. I was a bit unsure when i pulled up but once in the venue is very clean and tidy, friendly staff. Probably the nicest pint i've been served all year. Just had a cheeky cheesy chips as i was in a rush for work. But well done to the team, very clean tidy dated place but very pleasant stay Manager Manager, General Manager at Russ Hill Hotel Gatwick, responded to this review Thank you for your lovely feed back we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel.

    Nice hotel , bad food.

    rating09 Apr 2026

Stayed one night for a flight next day. Hotel lovely. Staff nice and helpful. Room modern and clean. Cant fault anything except the food in the bar. My husband had fish and I gammon. Expected a nice piece of freshly battered fish but they were two large breaded fish fingers that looked and tasted like a frozen ready meal. My gammon was flat and hard and tasted like it had been cooked then frozen and then warmed up. I eat a lot of gammon when I dine out and it is always juicy, this one was not. My husband’s chips were dark brown , mine were white. How can two meals cooked together ( I say cooked but mean microwaved ) have two different versions of chips. He left his chips as said they did not taste nice. I managed some of mine. It was one of the worst meals we have ever had. It felt like there wasn’t a chef in the kitchen but a free member of staff who just warmed food up. Really nice hotel spoilt by the food coming out of the kitchen. Manager Manager, General Manager at Russ Hill Hotel Gatwick, responded to this review Thank you for your comments we will review with the Kitchen

Stayed for one night before flying from Gatwick. Phoned the day before to ask if we needed to book for evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant and was told we didn't need to.At the hotel check in, we were then informed the restaurant was closed and had been for several months.Had the pub grub in the evening which was poor and obviously no breakfast as promised. The hotel is dirty, the rooms are slightly better but generally rubbish. The staff are unhelpful and overall a poor experience.Stay clear unless desperate. Manager Manager, General Manager at Russ Hill Hotel Gatwick, responded to this review Thank you for your comments, during periods of low occupancy the restaurant is closed , continental breakfast is avalible on request and a full bar food menu is avalible.
