Situated in the heart of London's Mayfair, the hotel is just 5 minutes' walk from Green Park Underground Station and Hyde Park is about 1.5 km from the hotel. Mayfair is home to numerous restaurants, bars and clubs, and nearby Bond Street offers a large selection of shops.

The hotel was built in 1913. The hotel welcomes guests in a 7-storey building with a lift and 171 non-smoking rooms. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out.     Afternoon Tea,Apart from lovely Agnes the hostess/waitress DO NOT COME HERE.Walked in to the Washington hotel & realised there is no atmosphere which hits you straight away.I mentioned we are here for Afternoon Tea and they said go round to the right.No menu no choice of teas offered.Reserved signs everywhere but no one else was there the 2 hours we were thereRight in front of us was an Air con unit on with hose blowing warm air out over the staircase.Piano in the room but was not used.No offer of sandwich replacement.Cakes small and chocolate cake with Union Jack on was melted and scones shop bought.I had to ask for another coffee which was not included but gave to me anyway.What …Out of all the afternoon teas we have experienced this is the worst and I mean the worst hotel ever walked into in London.They don’t care it’s an idea to try and get people in to there establishment.Bitterly disappointed please don’t waste your precious time and money go elsewhere.There are so many many better places to spend your afternoon.

    I came here for an afternoon tea after my graduation ceremony. Amit and Agnes were lovely and made sure we were comfortable! Food was really nice, especially the sandwiches. They took time to explain everything to us. My mum found her cappuccino a bit strong, and they offered her a chamomile tea at no extra cost.

    Stayed for five nights . Overall excellent city centre location with very easy access to transport, shops and restaurants. Contrary to previous reports , our stay was more than satisfactory .On positive side very clean , in newly decorated good sized room with good elevator access , thorough daily refreshment .On the downside ,and being picky here, a smile and a welcome by reception and concierge would go a long way . The walk in shower in the bathroom , which seemed recently installed , but had no shelf for toiletries or a grab rail !! This safety deficit was pointed out to the manager who was more than surprised. We were offered a different room which we declined. Correction was to be arranged after we departed. Breakfast is expensive given that there are numerous breakfast cafes very nearby. We would certainly return here. Compared to our experience in similar London hotels, we had a very positive experience here again .     Some aspects disappoint but clean and well located.

    Short walk to the tube and well located. Debated between a 3 or 4 star review but for us a few things let it down….When booking it says you will be automatically upgraded to a superior room if available but this was not mentioned at all at check-in where the staff seemed generally disinterested and not terribly friendly. That vibe continued to the concierge desk and restaurant staff at breakfast. The housekeeper however was friendly and smiley👍The room was clean and ok but not terrific. Slept reasonably well. Had to ask for more tea coffee and milk as supplies in room are a bit stingy.Breakfast was disappointing although other reviewers have enjoyed so perhaps it’s just personal taste.Overall ok but have stayed in better hotels in London.
