  Excellent location…bus stop for hop on bus…Hyde park across streetSmall hotel, but amenities.breakfast very good. Bar and restaurant in hotel…pleasant staff.Small rooms, but clean..comfortable bed.

  15 min walk from Paddington with 2 tube stations minutes walk away. Directly opposite the beautiful Kensington Gardens.

  I stayed at this hotel for three nights. Everything was wonderful – the location, the breakfast, and a special thank you to the staff for their excellent service.The biggest drawback was the price of the room compared to its size. The room was extremely small, much smaller than expected.   Pros and Cons

  Overall our experience was good. The cons did not detract from being able to enjoy our stay. The staff was excellent. Everyone was friendly, responsive and accommodating. Two staff members stood out, Ehisha at the front desk and Nithin in the restaurant. When we asked at the front desk for items that were not in the room (washcloth, non slip bathtub mat, hangers), Elisha had them in the room in a matter of minutes. I experienced some issue logging on to the WiFi and she had me bring my laptop down to the lobby and she helped me get it sorted out. She was a knowledgeable computer user. The restaurant was comfortable, for the most part quiet and the food was very good. The buffet breakfast was wonderful and after long days of sightseeing, we were tired and ended up eating dinner at the hotel. The fish and chips was excellent. So good, we got it twice. We enjoyed the burgers, pizza and salads as well. One of the great things Thistle promotes is to pass on getting daily housekeeping and for every day you do that, they give you a credit voucher to save $7 in the restaurant/bar.We liked the. It allowed us to get out of Central London, which was a madhouse. The neighborhood is nice, with a lot of restaurants and variety close to the hotel. There is also a park across the street filled with tress and walking paths. There are two underground stations nearby that give you good access to most of the city .Our issues were mostly with our room. There wee no draws in which to store clothes, There was only 5 hangers, no luggage racks. There was practically no counter space int he small bathroom and only a little shelf. The bathtub was a bit difficult to get in and out of, which could be a problem for some, especially older folks. In our opinion, the shower was very hard to use without spraying water all over the place. We normally enjoy a nice shower but not in that tub.The pros outweigh the cons and since we were only there a few days, we did not let those things stop us from enjoying our stay.   Nice central hotel but expensive.

  Deluxe family suite was spacious and clean. Air conditioning was a must as it there was a heatwave in May. However because the fans pointed directly at the beds it meant we were cold at night if left on but too hot if not. Mini bar fridge, kettle and coffee machine was a nice to have. Bathrobes supplied but no slippers which would have been nice.Our room was clean with wooden floors but the bathroom was dated with shower over bath and felt small with no hooks and nowhere to put our toiletries.Breakfast was good but nothing for vegetarians or gluten free guests to choose from.Location was central with 2 tube lines a short walk away and car parking was available at additional cost which we used.We were happy with our accommodation (although wouldn’t agree it was a 4 star) as we paid for the deluxe upgrade and would stay again.
