    Clean but unwelcoming.

    rating08 Jun 2026

The room was barely adequate for 2 of us, it would have been a squeeze for 3 with such limited space for clothes. Very clean room, towels changed every day, which seemed unnecessary. Staircase very narrow for guests with large suitcases - I wondered about safety if there was a fire. Receptionist was rude, maybe because we were 2 guys, he made us feel as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit. A simple question about local shops elicited a sneer. Charmaine Abomnes, Owner at Wardonia Hotel Kings Cross, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the room very clean and that daily housekeeping met a good standard during your stay.We are sorry, however, to read your comments regarding your experience at reception. This is not the level of service we expect from our team, and we take all feedback about staff attitude very seriously. Your comments will be shared with the management team for review and follow-up.We are also sorry that the room size and storage did not meet your expectations. As a 2-star limited-service hotel within a Georgian townhouse, our rooms are generally compact and this is reflected in our online descriptions to help guests make an informed choice prior to booking. Similarly, the building’s historic layout means staircases are narrow, which is typical of properties of this age in central London.Thank you again for your feedback, which helps us identify areas where we can improve.

    Disgusting Hotel

    rating20 May 2026

DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTELApon arriving the stair case is very narrow but we did expect that, after that it went downhill fast The room was very small, the bathroom smelt like a ashtray, when pulled the sheets down to go to bed we found stains on the sheets and duvet cover. The night watchman delivered clean linens but had to return with another duvet because that was stained with a unknown substance and worse of all the mattress cover had what looked to be blood stains on it. No other rooms were available in the hotel that night so after all that we had change the sheets etc. Apon talking to the manager in the morning about the situation he said there was nothing wrong with the sheets etc that's how they arrive. No offer of a apology or discount on the room.I said we had 3 more nights later in the month and would be cancanceling and wanted a refund he said no refund to which I told him he could put his hotel in not nice words.I have pictures of the stains Charmaine Abomnes, Owner at Wardonia Hotel Kings Cross, responded to this review Thank you for your follow-up and for providing further detail. We’re very sorry to hear about the experience you have described and for the distress this clearly caused during your stay. This is not the standard of cleanliness or service we expect, and we take these concerns extremely seriously. We understand from your comments that the manager did attend and spoke with you at the time. We regret that the situation was not resolved to your satisfaction during your stay, and that you felt the response regarding the laundry was not appropriate or reassuring. Please be assured that we will be reviewing this matter with both our housekeeping and management teams as a priority, as this falls well below our usual standards. Feedback of this nature is taken very seriously and is used to drive immediate investigation and corrective action where required. We are truly sorry that your experience was so disappointing and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Convenient location near King's Cross St. Pancras

    rating07 May 2026

The Wardonia Hotel is a good budget option in London, especially for travelers using King's Cross St. Pancras Station, which is just a short walk away. It’s a no-frills hotel, but the rooms were clean and comfortable for a short stay. The area has restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Charmaine Abomnes, Owner at Wardonia Hotel Kings Cross, responded to this review Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted to hear that you found us to be a good budget option in London and that our location near King’s Cross St Pancras was convenient for your stay. It’s also great to know that you found your room clean and comfortable for a short visit, and that you were able to make use of the nearby restaurants and convenience stores. We really appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again in the future.

    Dire - read the reviews

    rating21 Apr 2026

The room was the smallest ever, tiny double bed, no room for cases or contents, no room for anything (including towels) in the bathroom. Only one bed light working. And that’s after you had to lug heavy cases up to the third floor with No Lift! Very narrow corridors and staircases and difficult to hold bannisters, god help us if there’s a fire! I would never ever stay here again - the only positive is its location to St Pancras when you’ve an early train. Charmaine Abomnes, Owner at Wardonia Hotel Kings Cross, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we’re pleased to hear that you found our location convenient for St Pancras Station and early train connections, we are sorry to learn that several aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Our hotel is housed within a traditional Georgian-era building, which gives the property its historic character but also means that room sizes, corridors, and staircases can be more compact than in modern hotels. As the building is listed, lift installation is unfortunately not possible. We do, however, ensure that all of our partner booking platforms clearly state that the hotel is staircase access only, and our staff are always happy to assist guests with luggage whenever needed. We also apologise for the issue with the bedside light and understand your frustration regarding the room layout and storage space. Your comments have been noted and will be reviewed with the relevant teams.Guest safety is extremely important to us, and the hotel fully complies with all required fire safety regulations for buildings of this type.We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve both our service and communication with future guests.
