The staff are amazing - food not so much

I’ve stayed here for over six months on and off and I have to say, the staff are wonderful.Dorcas on reception along with Reem in the bar with Miguel, just amazing.Bass is a great ambassador for the hotel also.The rooms are comfortable and if you are an IHG member you can spec your room with a call to the staff.My last night here saw the menu change, it needed to be as the food previously was poor, very poor.I’d stay here again in a heartbeat due to Reem, Miguel,Dorcas and Bass. They all recognised me and went out of their way to welcome me- exemplary

Fabulous party thanks to the wonderful staff at Smokies Park

Celebrated our 70th Birthdays party in the Alexandra Suite at Smokies Park with 50 family and friends. Had a wonderful afternoon and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Everyone said how good the hot and cold buffet was. We highly recommend the venue!

Lovely staff and fabulous breakfast

A lovely overnight stay- big bed, big TV, good shower, quiet setting. It was the best breakfast selection I've had in a hotel for years- alongside all the traditional favourites there was lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt compote and granola pots, dried fruirs and seeds, waffles, muffins, begneits ( delicious), hand carved ham and fabulous cheeses. The breakfast lady was very accommodating and obliging and I overheard her helping a guest with their gluten and dairy free options.

What a great stay with first class staff

Great experience all round. Breakfast was fantastic, lots to choose from and great quality. Steph and Linda were were lovely to talk too and felt I was really looked after. They both definitely go that extra mile and are very professional 😁. Becky from housekeeping was an absolute delight a really lovely lady and is a credit to the company. I stayed in room 505 and couldn't fault a thing, very high standard of cleaning. Also Bass from reception is a credit to the business too. Always such a pleasure to see him and have a chat. Thank you for a lovely stay and will see you all soon. Becky Xx

Started out well with a pre lunch drink in the bar with our family party of 12. Drink on arrival in the dining area was a nice touch.However, we were seated at table 23 which meant we were the last to be served for each course. Everyone had pre ordered their meal -The starter and main meal were ok, but the desert of Eaton mess was a real disappointment.Although very pleasant, the young serving staff did not seem to be managed or guided by anyone in charge - they did their best but the service was extremely slow and as we were the last table to be served each course it was a very long wait!Good that we could have family together for Christmas day with food cooked for us but our experience didnt make us want to book again this year.
