UNBEARABLE ROOM TEMPERATURE 28.5c & NOISY FAN UNABLE TO SLEEP!!!

    rating13 Jun 2026

Booked for the Great Manchester Run weekend and had a very bad experience. There was no air conditioning in the bedroom, the windows didn’t open and a very noisy fan was the only way to marginally reduce the room temperature which was 28.5c. Good job the outside temperature was under 20c and not the weekend before that was 30c plus. I reported these issues at reception and was told the hotel was fully booked. I also mentioned the issues on checking out and was just given a card with the website for guest relations. It took Premier Inn 5 days to respond to my complaint to be basically told there’s no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows don’t open for safety reasons. The response made us feel like we were lucky to have a fan. The fact the room temperature was 28.5c and unbearable to wear clothing and difficulty sleeping due to the heat and noise from the fan was not mentioned. Very disappointed with Premier Inn as they advertise a good night’s sleep which our stay was anything but!! Not ideal preparation for a half marathon run which was the reason for booking the stay. Would have expected some financial compensation as a good nights sleep was not achieved.

Housekeeping need a small lesson in honesty

    rating12 Jun 2026

Stay was fine, the room was quiet and clean enough. However sadly housekeeping did not return my iPad charger and lovely long cable. Very disappointed in this aspect, I phoned a number of times and the desk staff were very helpful.

    Looking a bit tired

    rating07 Jun 2026

This Premier Inn is looking a little tired around the edges but it was more or less clean. The carpet in my room had a rather prominent stain on it but I didn't look closely as I was only there for one night and just needed somewhere to sleep. We had had an awful train journey, arriving 3 hours later than planned, and it was lovely to see the welcoming smile of Gina who was so helpful, but I was disconcerted to hear that staff were encouraged to help people use the automated check in. Stop It!! It's lovely to be welcomed to a new city and have someone give useful local information. I for one would prefer to have someone check me in rather than do it myself, after all, I don't work there. The downside is that the rooms are hot with no air con and windows that don't open very far and although it didn't bother me too much because my room was quite large, the heat bothered my friend considerably and it affected her sleep. However, Gina went above and beyond to get us food served after the restaurant had closed because of our delay and we were so grateful, thanks to the chef as well. The breakfast was good as we have come to expect, but it was the staff who turned a very ordinary one night stay into a memorable one. Thank you.
