  Excellent overnight staycation at Royal Station, lovely beds and room with a view of thestation street. Its location is second to none as it's next to the railways station and city centre within a few minuteswalk.Booked online, checked in online and even got a roomearly than scheduled.The staff were all friendly without being over friendly, special 'thank you' to Michael and Mandy who looked after us during breakfast.

  Horrible room old fashioned

  When U go into the hotel then deco is old fashioned but lovely. Enter your room it all stops. Had heating blasting when it's 27 degrees outside, we had to leave to cool down. Lumpy old pillows and a mattress where you could literally see the springs sticking out. Bath was actually rusty and stained. Reminded me of a 1960s bedsit. We checked out at 11pm couldn't bare to spend the night. Worst hotel in Newcastle I have ever stayed in. Also went for a coffee at 8pm and even though the machine was on and right in front of our eyes the waiter refused us a drink.

  Beds clean and comfortable in huge room was a positive.However, the bathroom hadn’t been hoovered, the soap dispenser didn’t work, the door stop was hanging off, the bath was chipped, the toilet was stained horribly, the windows had to be propped open on a really hot night and the room as a whole needed some real TLC.Ok, it’s relatively cheap at £108, but there are much betters places to stay. The breakfast was very basic.

  The room was clean, it was an efficient booking process done in person, the bed was comfortable and the facilities was impressive! The most memorable part of this trip was the help of Regina with my luggage, I had 9 bags which although it was not the responsibility of anybody to help me, Regina seen me struggle and helped, the other staff who stared and watched the struggle remained still whilst Regina noticed and helped get downstairs from my room and to the exit door too! Really impressed with how lovely, welcoming and friendly she was! :)
