    PARKING

    rating30 Jun 2026

SORT OUT THE PARKING ISSUE!! Many complaints regarding this.Went in after work to meet a friend for a couple of drinks. No one mentioned anything about having to register your cars reg.Received a £100 fine a few days later! Out of principle I will never go back.If you dont sort this out, you will lose all of your custom!

    Exceptional Service from Tshering

    rating30 Jun 2026

I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to on this occasion. My son had his wedding reception at the Hilton Abingdon on 20th June. While some aspects of the overall experience, including the rooms and the hosting of the wedding venue, could have been better, I wanted to take the time to recognise one member of staff who truly stood out.Tshering, who worked in the bar, was exceptional from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. We were up very late in the evening, and despite the long hours, he was still working with a smile. The next morning at breakfast, he was there again, just as cheerful, friendly, and attentive.I'm quite particular about my breakfast and asked for vegetarian sausages. Tshering made sure they were specially cooked and personally brought them to my table. It may seem like a small gesture, but it showed genuine care and excellent customer service. If I were reviewing Tshering alone, he would receive 5 stars without hesitation. Unfortunately, I have deducted one star overall because other aspects of the hotel experience, particularly the rooms and the organisation of the wedding venue, did not meet the same high standard.Exceptional employees like Tshering are what make guests want to return. He is a real credit to the Hilton, and I sincerely hope his hard work and dedication are recognised. Thank you, Tshering, for making our stay so much more enjoyable.

Very uncomfortable bed, clean and fresh, no thrills

    rating27 Jun 2026

We stayed for one night on a hot day in a room on the second floor facing a restaurant garden in the new building. Location of the room made it for reasonably quiet stay considering that the hotel is by the main roads. Window is large and opens enough to get fresh air in as we don’t like the aircon. Room was clean, freash, spacious enough and functional with quite nice modern decor. Fridge, ironing board, tea tray. Walk in shower, no bath. On the other hand there are no touches like bathrobe, slippers or decent toileteries. I urge you to bring your own shower gel and soap as the hotel products made my skin flakey and very dry despite applying creams on top.My issue was bed - it was so hard and uncomfortable that I woke up at 5 am with a terrible back pain. For this reason I will only return when everything else is booked up in Oxford area.We drove and parking was free but you need to register. Walk to the Abingdon town centre is a solid 20 min with a market to experience on Saturday. We enjoyed lunch by the river Thames on a Laurent Perrier terrace. Please note uber to Oxford is expensive, it will cost you about £80-100 return for a 6 mile journey which cancels out the difference you pay for a 4* hotel in Oxford so it is better to drive and cover the charge and parking or take one of the buses.

We asked for strawberries & cream to celebrate the beginning of summer and the start of Wimbledon. Chef smiled and created a masterpiece that was totally delicious. THANK YOU to everyone at Hilton Garden Inn for making our time with you so perfect and memorable.Mah Jong Club Abingdon 💨🎲🐉

Jasper in the bar was also great guy, my wife said his Mai Tia cocktail was one of the best she has had(hoping he can get the Mudslide on the list) Hotel is very handy for surrounding area. We headed down to Bath and over to Stonehenge.
