    Lovely hotel, unique location

    Great location next to the castle and close to the city centre. Easy to walk to see the city. A very quirky and unique atmosphere with it being an old prison. My room was very comfy and clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely outdoor seating area. Only negatives - parts of the room were starting to look a little shabby and I didn’t think the breakfast was worth the money. Would definitely stay here again but would skip breakfast.

    We had a great stay at Malmaison in Oxford for only a night. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Adrean was especially excellent as we enjoyed their amazing breakfast adjacent to the bar. Do not miss the whimsical art by Nic Joly on the walls or the homemade granola and made-to-order breakfasts. Oh and Adrean clued us in to the original prison cell that has been kept intact. Great location, accommodations and staff!     Unforgettable night in the ‘clink’

    Superb location in the centre of Oxford. The conversion from prison to hotel has been superb with original features retained where possible. Overall very luxurious and friendly. The staff were very accommodating and made sure our dog could join us throughout the hotel. We were served by very professional and caring staff. Of particular note was Adrian who greeted us at breakfast on the Saturday and also served us at dinner. He was so friendly, helpful and entertaining. He made us feel so special. The room was very well presented but we had a couple of suggestions which might improve the experience for others. For example the mezzanine in the suite would be better with sofas rather than a formal dining table. Also the bathroom had a glass door - why! Even worse there was no lock or stop on the bathroom door of any kind. Overall the value was in line with similar hotels. Despite our niggles we would definitely recommend to others to go and stay in the ‘clink’ for an unforgettable experience.     Just returned after another brilliant stay at Malmaison Oxford. All staff are friendly, helpful and work tirelessly to make sure guests are happy during their time at the hotel.A special thank you to Adrean (in Chez Mal Brasserie) for welcoming me back, looking after me so well and sharing his expert knowledge on dishes from the autumn menu.Adrean’s cheerful disposition and vibrant personality lifts the atmosphere of Chez Mal Brasserie.
