  Place not friendly vibe and not just tired but actually dirty in communal areas and in room. Very overpriced for the standard at £110 per night b and b. I don't normally complain but we are actually cutting our visit short as the place is souless and just not a nice place to be. I am normally a person who says you make what you can of it. Lift doors covered in finger marks, squint light fittings, skirtings dirty, light pull cord in bathroom black with use, curtains in room are eyelet ones fitted over an old fashioned runner rail so doesn't fit and doesn't keep light out. Just a complete lack of attention to detail, it feels like no one cares. Taps in bathroom dirty in room as when run can see black gunge coming out so used a spare toothbrush to clean it before I used water for kettle, which I gave a good wash before use too. Tea tray dusty like it not been cleaned in a long time. So disappointed as it's such a magnificent building. It's obvious the chain who own the hotel aren't interested in customer satisfaction and just in it for the money. Will not be back. Looking at past reviews seems to be similar/same issues for years. Sad.

  Over priced room dust everywhere toilet not clean room standard very bad not worth the money food was really bad paying £20 for fish and chips would’ve been better going to chippy down the road as it was frozen not cooked very well will never go back there and advise other traveler's to avoid unless they ripped off Artur Kaminski, General Manager at The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel, responded to this review Hi!   Arthur, Stephen and the whole crew where fantastic , Limia in the resteraunt with everyone else were the best, the rooms are smart ,clean and fresh and the hotel itself just had a nice feeling to it . My wife and I will come back on our own as this visit was with family . I am giving this place a massive thumbs up .   The room was awful. room 9 with twin beds. the windows were high up and obscured glass so there was no way to look out. the room had a stuffy smell with paint flaking off the skirting boards. mould on the bathroom ceiling above the shower and the socket beside the bed not working. the room was dark. We compained to the receptionist who did not really care and told us they couldnt change our room as they were fully booked. we paid £149 for 1 night ... very dissapointed.
