Lovely but parking not advised properly.

    rating30 May 2026

Well we had a night away on Fri 29th May 2026. It was a lovely drive down from Somerset. When we got there Sat Nav said we were outside hotel. We tried to find car park. Drove around the roads and roundabout four times. So i then parked outside ran in hotel. They had a QR code for car park. This wasnt easy to understand, advised that in brochure they actually explain this. We eventually parked in Sainsburys using QR Code for £17.00 for a day and a half. We eventually checked in hotel. Staff were very pleasant and understanding about car park problem. Bed and breakfast was really good, food excellent. Great nights sleep. Fully recomend when they sort out advising more on parking car. Loved Plymouth. Would given 5 if car parking wasnt a problem. Raj Srinivasan, General Manager at Copthorne Hotel Plymouth, responded to this review Dear X6444BUrobing,Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent experience with our parking arrangements. We understand that navigating the area can be confusing, especially after a long journey. We have listed our car parking directions on our website for your convenience. For future stays, please feel free to call our reception desk upon your arrival; they have a map diagram to guide you to the car park. Please note that Plymouth Council set the one-way roads in the area without our consultation, which can contribute to the confusion. We truly value your input and are continuously working to improve our services to accommodate all our guests better. Should you have any further concerns or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to welcome you back in the near future.Kind regards,Raj SrinivasanGeneral Manager

    Average stay

Had to stay in Plymouth overnight for work purposes and as I wouldn’t be arriving until past 22:00, I was keen to find somewhere close to the station for ease as also had an early start the next day. Found the Copthorne and chose to book here, as it is only a short walk via an underpass from the railway station.Check-in was straightforward and I was given a room on the first floor, just past the lifts down the corridor. This overlooked a Sainsbury’s and adjacent car park, although I didn’t hear any exterior noise at all. The room itself was at best average and a little dated, it was also quite warm and there was no air conditioning. The bed and bathroom were clean and positively, the room was a good size with a desk, chair and tea/coffee making facilities.Unfortunately there was some noise from an adjoining room, where I heard guests returning around 01:00. Just something to bear in mind as the walls are obviously quite thin, it would have also been nice if a bottle of water was provided being a warm day.Breakfast in the morning consisted of a hot and cold buffet selection, no issues here and the food was a good quality with plenty of options available.Overall, the Copthorne did the job in that it was convenient location wise, but the rooms do need updating and the hotel could advise that some noise may be heard with adjoining rooms Raj Srinivasan, General Manager at Copthorne Hotel Plymouth, responded to this review Dear JonB125,Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us at The Copthorne. Great Team

I’d like to thank Harriet for her excellent customer service. She was always smiling, even when we were talking her ears off at 1:30am.I’d also like to thank the lady at breakfast who has been with the company for many years of service, always making sure that my friends and I were looked after each morning. For what it’s worth, I can’t repay the kindness they showed us, but I will definitely remember them both. If the managers of these two staff members read this review, I hope they receive recognition for the outstanding service they provide.Thank you 😇 Raj Srinivasan, General Manager at Copthorne Hotel Plymouth, responded to this review Dear MI5TER-D,Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that Harriet made such a positive impression during your stay. Lovely stay.

    rating21 May 2026

The location of the hotel is ideal for the centre of Plymouth. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The noise level is what you’d expect from a popular hotel. The food is of good quality and the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The slight problems I found personally were that there are a lot of stairs to get up to the main reception hall, which didn’t do my arthritic knees much good . There is another entrance in Armada way but, even though it says automatic doors, you have to push a button and wait for someone to open them. However I will definitely be staying there again. Good hotel near railway station

    rating20 May 2026

Great hotel as near train station, buses and the city centre. We stay quite often. The rooms I have stayed in seem to be more modern and the bed layout makes the room feel larger. Room seems very clean but the shower curtain smells. Should be changed more frequently eg once or twice a week. The room was a fridge which is brilliant. There is a Sainsbury next door.
