I work at Travelodge and I just love IBIS as much! Mostly because of the staff there. Everytime I have been here, they are so kind and understanding and really make you feel important. Today It was Ami who really understood my situation like, you all are amazing here at Ibis Reading! Definitely my go to Hotel every time ! And let’s not even talk about the location, perfect ! At the centre of Reading.

Fine for basic stay

2 night stay. Room was fairly comfortable and functional and it was clean. Only issue was very slow draining plugs in bathroom. Main issue overall with hotel was the key cards didn't work as they should. I kept them separate from my phone etc., but every time we tried to unlock door didn't work. Added to this we were on 8th floor and only 1 lift worked, spent a lot of wasted time going up and down to reception. However, the ladies on reception were excellent. Very apologetic and friendly.

Neighbouring room had the tv on all night which isn’t the hotels fault but come on people, have a little consideration for others.I’ve slept in more comfortable and less creaky beds in hospital.

1 night stay

Arrived to find only 1 lift working due to maintenance. Room needing improvement. Worktop looked broken. Bathroom very small to move in. The door wouldn't shut tight properly. Could hear the room next to us - very loud and noisy to sleep through. The only positive thing was the breakfast.

Awful

What an awful experience. Ok, so we book two rooms. I get to the rooms, open one door but the cars wouldn’t work on the other door. So, I go down the rickety lift and speak to guy at the front desk. He asks, don’t put the card next to your phone? No I said. He followed me back to the 12th floor and says the problem is with the battery in the door handle. Then proceeded to unlock the door with his key. So, he then says I’ll have to just stay in the room, but if I want to leave the room, he’ll have to let me back in. I said, can I not just have another room? He said no, they’re fully booked. I said well change the battery in the door then. He then opens the door again and says have you not been on the room yet, it looks untouched? I said NO, I can’t open the door! He says ok, you can have another room! Wtf? Then, when I’m downstairs sorting a new key, this couple checks in and says, “oh, the lift’s still out of order” “that’s been out of order since May!” “I had to get rescued by the fire service last time I was here” I took the stairs…
