  excellent overnight stay at Ibis Sheffield city centre

  I enjoyed an excellent night's sleep at the hotel. we stayed in the Ibis for overnight after a long train journey to Sheffield from London St Pancras international train station after we been on our holiday on the 7 day MSC Splendida cruise from Barcelona from London Gatwick airport just before we catch the Uber taxi back to our house from the Ibis hotel on the next day. Great powerful shower in the funky bathroom. the room were clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The staff greeted everyone with a smile and a warm welcome. Excellent value.   Awful hotel experience

  Not a very good hotel at all , bathroom door didn't close. Window didn't close. Loud shouting police cars all night , smell of drugs outside , we came down for breakfast only to find hotel cornered off by police. Riot police came into hotel and removed 2 men in handcuffs, we was sitting eating breakfast staff didn't tell us anything. The worrying thing is hotel was shut off to keep people out but what about us inside , it was a really worrying time and thd staff did not say anything to us police everything dressed in riot gear. When we checked out the staff did not even say a word not a sorry hope you are OK. They were even laughing as to like this is a normal thing to happy. The door at front of hotel was broken such an awful experience for 2 ladies on their own hotel staff lacking in care for their customers Diane Brown, General Manager at Ibis Sheffield City, responded to this review Thank you for the feedback, we are sorry to hear of the disappointing stay.The police did attended the hotel, unfortunately we were not advised in advance or at anytime made aware of a course of action to be taken inside or outside of the property.The situation was not a normal occurrence & was not found to be acceptable or amusing for either staff or guests.Staff on duty were addressing guests in the proximity of the room concerned in the first instance.Please always make us aware of defects which require our attention, the front door mechanism was addressed shortly afterwards & returned to serviceWe are extremely sorry for any distressed caused.   Not far from train station 15 min walk. Will let you leave bags prior to check in and after check out if needed. Friendly staff, very clean and in a great location. 15 to 20 min walk into city centre. Nice little pub next door, full of locals very friendly.   I was impressed by the impeccable cleanliness of the hotel. Everything was spotless and perfectly organized down to the smallest detail — the rooms sparkled, the bed linen was perfectly white and freshly scented, and the bathrooms were flawlessly clean. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job; it’s clear that great attention is paid to hygiene. A true example of professionalism and respect for guests!
