    The most amazing wedding

    rating02 Apr 2026

We had our wedding at The Harbour Hotel, both the ceremony and the reception afterwards. The day was fantastic from start to finish. We are eternally grateful to Ken, Camilla, Ellie and the whole team, who were very attentive to our needs, both during the planning phase and on the day itself. The food that the venue laid on was delicious, the venue staff worked well with us and with all of our vendors, and we loved our bridal suite. We and our guests had an amazing and unforgettable day, and we'll treasure the memories for the rest of our lives.Thank you!

    Fantastic Hotel

    rating02 Apr 2026

We had a truly wonderful stay. It was one of the nicest hotels we have ever visited. The service was incredible from the moment we arrived—from getting out of the taxi to your staff assisting with our baggage. The reception team was friendly and knowledgeable; I'd like to give a special thank-you to Megan for her help. The service throughout our stay was excellent. All the food and drinks were very good, and we particularly loved the breakfast and the Sunday Roast. Our room was beautiful, featuring a great outdoor space and tasteful, comfortable furnishings. As an added bonus, the transfer service provided to the port was the perfect start to our cruise. We will certainly return hopefully in the summer to enjoy the outdoor areas of the hotel.

    It's the little things.

    rating28 Mar 2026

This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel, it is in a great location, with a great view of the Marina, and Southampton Water from a high floor. The room is perfect for our needs, however hotel improvements could be made in the following areas: Prior to our stay I sent an email requesting a firmer pillow, after 8 days of no acknowledgement I resent the email, after 5 days I rang the hotel, who added my request to the booking, on check in I asked if the pillow was in the room, they confirmed housekeeping would be adding the pillow, guess what there wasn't a firmer pillow in the room, I rang housekeeping who sent the pillow within 20 minutes. They now charge a payment for the hotel carpark of £20 for 12 hours or more, each day (3 days = £60), there are charges too for shorter stays. The carpark used to be free this isn't for improved carpark security, they told us it is just because the new manager decided they could. We get our money back by not eating in their restaurant for one night (yes we used to eat in their restaurant for 3 nights of our stay, at more than £300 per sitting - not anymore) the local restaurants are good and cheaper. The outside terrace furniture cushions were filthy with green algae, yes I understand outdoor furniture left out all through winter does get dirty, a good scrub and steam clean would bring it back to good. During our stay there was a fire alarm activation, no direction from staff, confused residents made their way down the stairs, staff standing around not telling us anything, the alarm stopped the staff disappeared, were we okay to return to our rooms, carry on going to dinner, we had no idea. The hotel check in was very long winded. Incase they forget to tell you breakfast is in the Harbar on the 6th floor. On the positive side: The Jetty restaurant (ground floor) food is great, you can see the chefs hard at work through a viewing window, the wine list is quite limited, the staff attentive and friendly. There is a little Coop just a few doors from the hotel and also a little Tesco which are great. There is a bus stop into town on the main road (Canute Road) which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Don't get me wrong we did have a great time and love the location of the hotel, it's the little touches which could make this hotel really great. Best Pizza in 25 years!!

    rating21 Mar 2026

We haven't been here for a couple of years and with the sunny weather we thought it would be nice to have a meal and watch the sun go down. I think we got the last space in the car park so very lucky. Up to the 6th Floor and into the HarBar and got a table right by the windows overlooking the yacht basin right below and the river Itchen as it approaches Southampton Water as that heads to the sea. The views are magnificent and I would have paid to have rented a telescope. However, the real gem was the food when it arrived. We ordered two pepperoni pizzas and didn't really know whether to expect a supermarket quality pizza or a couple of pizza wedges but what arrived were two twelve inch pizzas that had just been made and had been cooked in a pizza oven. We both looked at each other, tasted them, and agreed that these were the best Pizza's since we visited Lido Di Jesolo, just outside of Venice, in the year 2000. So the best Pizzas in the last 25 years, how do they do that, try them? Overall, and to be expected, it's a five star experience. Finally, well done to all the staff who were very friendly and did a great job at making us welcome. Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa, responded to this review Dear Donald2002,Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! It sounds like you timed your visit perfectly, there’s nothing quite like a sunny evening with those views over the marina and river. We’re especially delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the pizzas. Being compared to memories of Italy (and holding that title for 25 years!) is incredibly high praise, and we’ll be sure to pass your comments on to our kitchen team, they’ll be thrilled. It’s also great to know our team made you feel welcome from the moment you arrived. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we hope it won’t be another couple of years before we see you again!Best Wishes,Jamie-LeeFOH Duty Manager

    Good, but overpriced

    rating03 Mar 2026

Stayed here once before not long after the hotel first opened and there was a valet car parking service, which was a nice touch. The hotel group that owns this hotel has since, we discovered when staying last weekend sold off its car park opposite the hotel to a third party company (Your Parking Space), so we had to pay nearly £5 to park for 3 hours after we arrived (hotel guests do not get 3 hours of free parking, only people visiting to eat in the hotel restaurant. Go figure that one)?! We went out in the car for dinner elsewhere in Southampton and came back to find the 'Your Parking Space' car park directly opposite the hotel full, so then had to park in the Ocean Village multi storey (£25 for 12 to 24 hours, which is as much as Canary Wharf in London)! Whilst this is beyond the control of the Southampton Harbour Hotel, it was a bit painful, on top of a £301 hotel room. Unrelated to the parking, as per the review title, a good hotel, but, as per the synopsis of reviews on here, definitely overpriced. Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa, responded to this review Dear JeremyWUK,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for choosing to stay with us again. We’re very pleased to hear that overall you had a good stay and we truly appreciate your continued support. We understand your comments regarding parking and appreciate you highlighting this. As you mentioned, the car park located opposite the hotel is now managed by a third-party company and is no longer operated by the hotel. While we unfortunately no longer have control over the tariffs or availability there, it does remain the closest option for guests wishing to park nearby. There are also several additional parking facilities within Ocean Village, including the multi-storey car park, which many of our guests use as an alternative, we do offer a discounted rate if you wish to validate your parking with us. Our reception team are always very happy to assist with directions and the most convenient options available at the time.Thank you again for your feedback. We do hope that despite the parking challenges, you otherwise enjoyed your visit and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.Kind regards,Jamie-LeeFOH Duty Manager
