  A stunning and special hotel in the Lakes

  Lindeth Howe hotel is a few minutes from Bowness on Windermere. It is a stunning hotel with the most beautiful decor and attention to detail. Having been previously owned by Britrix Potter, the hotel has a literary feel to.ot, using books and animals from her stories, in all rooms. The bedrooms are spacious and have everything you need (hairdryer, iron, safe, shampoo). Some of the rooms have beautiful views of the garden which is a wonderful space to enjoy if the weather is good. The staff at the hotel are all fantastic and provide a warm welcome and great service. The food is delicious and the puddings are fantastic! You can eat in the restaurant or have a bar meal. The hotel is wonderfully clean and the atmosphere is tranquil. We've stayed 3 times and it's always relaxing and peaceful, without noise or disruption. The hotel has a selection of rooms and I've always found them to be of good value for money. You can't stay and not be wowed by the hotels beauty!

  Lovely tranquil hotel.

  Lovely tranquil hotel just outside Bowness. Only stayed 1 night for our anniversary, wish we'd stayed longer. Rooms clean & spacious with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Dinner was absolutely amazing as was breakfast. Couldn't fault Lindeth Howe, 10 out of 10. Our second visit & would definitely recommend it.

  Another Wonderful Stay

  We return to Lindeth Howe each year around this time and are never disappointed. This year was no exception. The warm welcome and general ambience makes you relax as soon as you enter. We have the same comfortable room each year so it is like returning ' home'. The room is cleaned each day and is always spotless. The food is delicious as always whether it is breakfast or dinner and there is a good selection of wines, cocktails and drinks both alcoholic or non alcoholic. There was just a few small changes we noticed this year, however, which are obviously due to cut backs. They are only little things like you no longer get shortbread biscuits with any coffee and only one packet of complimentary biscuits in your room when there used to be two each day. Although this did not in any way deter from our enjoyment of our stay, it shows the difficulties the hospitality industry in general is facing. We look forward to returning again soon.

  Spoilt by Overcharging

  The room was excellent and the service was very good. The meal was excellent and I would have given a 5 star review except for the overcharging. The drinks were expensive. unfortunately we were overcharged and too much money was taken from my credit card. I think drinks we paid for at the bar were charged again to my card. This hotel was very good apart from the fact that they overcharged us and did not give us a copy of the bill so we could see what they were charging us for. I know there was a gratuity added but we were still overcharged I doubt due to this dishonesty I will return
