Yes, the hotel is probably scheduled a lick of paint in some areas, but we had the most relaxing stay.Positives.Location and view amazing!Rooms spacious, everything you needLovely little pool.Fab seating areas at night, cosy lounges rather than just a bar and was brilliant for us with elderly parents and a youngster in tow.Breakfast was lovely and eat as much as you want, no complaints at all.Staff all lovely and helpful.Negatives..Struggled to get the temperature right in the room ( but more likely user error)Although the restaurant was very good value in the evenings..the menu lacked variety, suitable for one meal only, and the food was edible but could tell was reheated ( tough chicken, and chewy pastry on a pie, no Sunday dinner option etc, so very wetherspoons quality) However that being said it was edible and we would definately return I future as our group of 5 aged 7 years to 86 absolutely loved our stay.I appreciate everyone has different opinions but the review prior to mine is very random to what we experienced ( i always check their previous reviews if a 1 or 2 star review as sometimes it can be clear it's them that may be the issue!)

Nice view but that was it

The only good part about this hotel was the room and that's pushing it. The room was tired with pictures placed on the wall in a way that didn't work. The TV was an after thought on the wall. The duvet cover was torn in several places. The worst part was us both hearing some young people working in the restaurant getting a talking too from a manager who really should have known better to give a telling off in a public area. I asked for a 0% tanquery which was on the bottles of drink in the bar and the bartender explained that he didn't trust how long it has been in the bar and went to get another bottle but came back to explain they didn't have any.The breakfast was appalling and the chef came out in dirty chef outfit and the scrambled eggs were something that did not look appealing. If this is the best experience people visiting our country get it falls short by a long way. I would avoid this hotel until they sort out the decor, rooms and ripped bedsheets. The restaurant needs reworking and the staff who were obviously in experienced trained and not to be spoken to by a person who should know better.

Charming hotel in a fantastic location

Really enjoyed our three night stay. This is a charming hotel with many period features but has modern facilities. Fantastic bar, restaurant, pool and sitting spaces both inside and out. In our room we loved the additions of robes and a coffee machine, giving us the comforts of home. We were lucky enough to get a room which had views over Windermere, offering a stunning treat every day. Our stay was delightful and we would highly recommend this hotel for the fabulous location and attentive staff. We cannot wait to book again.
