The front desk was awesome. The hotel needs updates. My toilet didn’t flush, telephone did not work, TV would not connect. They switched me out and the room was not very aesthetically pleasing as far as cleanliness. I’d booked on points. Stayed one night and checked out. Again staff was amazing with no issues. Agreed to refund me with no issues due to the issues. Once updated, this should be a great spot of convenience. We booked online three weeks in advance, have receipts to show, for 6 people. Upon arrival (3 hr winter drive) we're informed that we "might be" over booked. According to the desk clerk, the room was fire rated for only 5 people and maybe we'd be okay because we had three minor children, they would let us know. We booked online with Clarion, company owned website not third party. After settling in our room with two queens and a sleeper sofa for 2, we were informed that we were over booked and must book another room or they would "kick us out". We asked for compensation due to this being an error of their own making and not something we caused. There was no compensation, we received AAA discount, which we already qualified for. Desk clerk was very rude. Completely unwilling to acknowledge the company's mistake or make it right by us. Very unpleasant and unprofessional behavior from her. Clarion should be concerned that their branding is being represented in such a manner. Other issues: bathroom had a dirty towel left hanging on the door, broken tiles sticking up far enough to be a trip hazard. Beds: linens had human hair on them, bedspreads had mystery spots. Third floor vending was out of service. I have stayed here in the past and unfortunately it's just not what it used to be. Quiet and Comfortable Stay at Clarion Suites Anchorage Downtown

We recently had a pleasant stay at Clarion Suites Anchorage Downtown after our Alaskan cruise. The hotel is in a quiet location, and we didn’t hear much noise from neighboring rooms.The room itself was a good size and included useful amenities like a mini fridge and microwave. There’s also a washer and dryer available on the first floor, though be sure to bring coins and your own detergent powder.Breakfast was good — the typical offerings like cereal, toast, coffee, eggs, and bacon. Overall, a solid option if you're looking for a comfortable and quiet place to stay in downtown Anchorage. Surprisingly ok…

I didn’t expect much after reading some reviews on here, but was booked by travel agents as part of a Canada/Alaskan fly drive. Front desk staff were professional and polite and always greeted us on arrival on the 2 nights we stayed. Room clean and tidy and no complaints. Free breakfast provided which was appreciated and the staff member worked really hard to keep it well stocked with a great variety of breakfast items. Much appreciated. Good location and walkable to sites. Plenty of parking on site. Overall pretty happy, would return. Unauthorized charges by liars

Liars who make unauthorized charges! Was charged an early check in fee of $168. I flew in early morning and had called to ask if I could leave my suitcase there while I went on a tour. When I arrived, was told the room was ready and I could check in early. They asked for a credit card and I said someone else had booked and paid for the room. The staff member said the card would only be used for a deposit hold for damages. I dropped my bag in the room and left 5 minutes later. Then I saw a $168 credit card charge. I called and was told it was an early check-in fee. After calling over a dozen times to reach a manager, I finally connected with her. She said I was informed about the charge and won't return it. I said I specifically asked about charges and was told my card would only be used to hold a deposit. They are lying! Don't stay unless you want unauthorized charges on your credit card!
