Okay for a night

The room was roomy and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was clean and comfortable as well. The room was dated and needs some TLC. The curtains are blackout but have seen better days and have holes. And the airco looked dirty and the exhaust was not plugged in properly so we had to do that ourselves. The big orange chair in the room had crumps on the cushion and the fridge was missing the door for the freezer part, so the freezer was all ice. The sheets were clean but has some stains. The breakfast was more elaborate then expected but the room needed a sweep and the tables needed a wipe… okay stay for a night but again, it needs some TLC. The workers were kind and helpful.

Property is Close to the Train Station

Ramada by Wyndham Anchorage Downtown is a two star property near the train station. The hotel looks like an old motel. The property offers free breakfast and a convenient airport shuttle service. During my two night stay, both the manager and the staff provided me with assistance. First, I was not able to get into my first room. The door was locked, from the inside. I was quickly given another room. The second room had issues, the air conditioning unit was unplugged, the telephone wasn’t functioning, and the television was unplugged and the tv remote was missing. In addition, the mini refrigerator had not been cleaned. It took a village, but each item was fixed, with the exception of the phone. It was late and I was too tired to go back downstairs.

It’s worse than the reviews!

From the moment I arrived, the property appeared severely neglected. Multiple windows looked broken or damaged, curtains were torn or hanging unevenly, and trash was scattered around the exterior of the building and parking areas. The overall condition gave the impression of a property that has not been properly maintained in quite some time. I also observed individuals loitering in the parking lot and around the premises engaging in behavior that raised serious safety concerns. There were many obvious “long term” tenets that appeared to be perpetuating some of the apparent illegal activities. I decided to immediately cancel my reservation and pay the extra at another establishment.

A decent hotel, located close to the city center. There were minor defects in the room. The breakfast is dismal—just a pre-packaged bag. No fresh bread or anything like that.
