  Absolutely terrible experience. The front counter employee was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful — she even claimed she was the manager, but based on her behavior, she clearly should NOT be in any customer-facing leadership role. She needs to be re-trained immediately.I also experienced discriminatory treatment. As an Asian guest, I was spoken to rudely and treated like I wasn’t welcome. No guest should be made to feel singled out because of their ethnicity. It was unacceptable and embarrassing.To make things worse, the housekeeping manager also told customers to leave instead of trying to solve the problem professionally. The entire culture of customer service at this property is completely broken.If you want to stay somewhere where you are treated with basic respect — avoid this hotel. I would not recommend City Express Duluth to anyone until they replace or re-train the staff and take discrimination issues seriously.   Very Clean Comfortable Stay

  I stayed here in June 2025 for 3 nights, while I was attending a conference. This brand is new and was a little apprehensive about it. I was very pleased with the cleanliness and amenities in room, having both a fridge and microwave is important for a several night stay. My bed was very comfortable. Wifi worked very well. Breakfast offerings were good, they had eggs, one meat(changed every day) Danishes, different breads, etc. Seating area was very nice. They have a little store by front desk, which makes it nice to get some things, between drink snacks, and toiletries. My only complaint was that the pool was unavailable some kids had broken something, and it was unavailable. We had the option of going to the hotel next door, but I chose not to.   Pool was green and breakfast was abysmal. Rooms were and comfortable but showers were gross and looked like remodel was stopped before completed. Lady at front desk not nice and took 3 trips down to finally get into our room bec keys didnt work and then given a key to a room already occupied. Thankfully their TV was super loud so we knew before entering. Location was fine but not worthy of being called a Marriott. Would not return.
