    Customer Service Needs Serious Improvement

    The hotel grounds are beautiful, the banquet meals were fantastic, and Umi was incredibly kind and attentive every morning while grabbing coffee. Michael was the highlight though. Customer Service A + . Unfortunately, the guest service experience did not match the quality of the property itself.I arrived late after traveling from Key West and was disappointed to see valet staff standing around conversing while I struggled with my luggage unassisted. There was no greeting or warm welcome upon arrival.At check-in, Rebecca appeared disengaged and informed me I had been assigned a handicap room because the hotel was sold out. I was told the morning manager would contact me regarding a room change, but I never received a call. After following up myself several times, Marcel was abrupt and dismissive about the situation both on the phone and again during checkout. He told me no to the room move and did not offer any solutions so I just let the issue go and stayed in the same room. While I appreciated those few aspects of the stay, I would likely only return if attending another conference hosted there.     Very nice hotel. Clean and spacious rooms. No noise at all. Lovely breakfast area. Malls in the vicinity.Very good service from the shuttle bus driver, Sheriff.
