    Wonderful Stay!

    rating20 May 2026

My husband and I were in town for a basketball game and stayed at this hotel. We enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. First, the gentleman that checked us in was so personable and helpful. He made sure we had all the info we needed and even offered a bottle of water! I wanted to get his name so I could add it to the review, but have totally forgotten it. Whomever was working the desk on Saturday 5/16 between 3 or 4 o'clock. The breakfast was really good with lots of options. The women in charge of the area were on top of everything. I made a big mess (of course I would!) and one of the ladies was so kind about it even though I am sure she had her hands full. She insisted that she would clean it, but I of course, insisted on helping. This was Sunday 5/17 around 9 or 9:30. Our check out was just as smooth and the gentleman just as helpful. We checked out about 10-10:15 on 5/18. I am giving dates and times because I hope all that were so kind to me and my husband get recognition for doing an excellent job and giving excellent customer service. It is so hard to find these days! Great job to all and we will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.

    Worst experience ever!!

    rating15 May 2026

As a frequent traveler (Marriott Gold), this was one of my worst hotel experiences. 1. Room Discrepancy & Gaslighting: I booked a Suite with a kitchen and King bed, but was given a much smaller and cheaper Studio. Instead of correcting the error, management challenged my intelligence, claiming both rooms were "the same size." They shifted the blame to Expedia rather than taking responsibility. This lack of integrity is unacceptable. 2. Parking Rip-off: They charge a staggering $50/night for valet. Ironically, the valet staff advised me to park at a nearby lot for $28/day with identical in-and-out privileges. The hotel’s pricing is predatory. 3. Poor Breakfast: Extremely limited options for a 3-star hotel. No yogurt, no fruit, and overall poor quality. Don’t waste your time. 4. Service Failure: I needed to print shipping labels, but the guest printer was broken. Staff refused to help by printing from a PDF or email, citing a "unhackable network" excuse—a blatant lie to avoid being helpful. Their solution was to tell me to find a public library.Summary: The staff is unhelpful, the infrastructure is failing, and management is dishonest. There are plenty of better hotels in downtown Atlanta. Do not stay at the Marriott Residence Inn Atlanta Downtown. Use your money elsewhere.

Good place to stay if going to watch a game at Mercedes Benz Stadium

    rating02 Apr 2026

Here to watch team USA soccer at Mercedes Benz stadium. Picked this hotel mainly for location and we usually enjoy the free breakfast! Checked in early and got our room and was as expected. Had a little issue at the front desk, not sure if he was new but needs some work on customer service, even messed up our check in and check out times so our keys stopped working in the middle of our stay. Anyways, other than that everything else was good. The room, very spacious, we always enjoy the kitchen with the fridge for drinks and snacks, the microwave to warm up our drinks and food always comes in handy. Room was clean lots of towels, bed was comfy, but the bathroom just seemed dated. Me and my son loved the breakfast, the presentation and food was all really good. Eating area kind of small but luckily there wasn’t a lot of people eating when we showed up. Location was a nice 20 minutes walk to the stadium and even passed by the Centennial Park and took pics at the Olympic Rings (I always remembered that park from the bombing incident during the Olympics) Downtown Atlanta overall was a good experience.

Staff was a 10 every thing else 4

    rating12 Mar 2026

The staff was great. The valet, front desk, and breakfast folks made it a nice stay. The interior was pretty standard and a little worn. The downtown location was a double edged sword. Close to attractions and restaurants, however it has a high concentration of homeless. I’m talking like zombie apocalypse concentration. It was also the loudest hotel I’ve stayed in in a long time. Mostly street noise, with some internal noise. Things like trains, cars, horse carriages, banging pipes, but my favorite was the garbage truck at 3am. The hotel also had a lot of smells. I had to change rooms, the first room smelled like someone cooked Chinese food in it 5 minutes before I arrived and the elevator smelled like feet on one of my rides. The staff was good but I don’t know if I would stay here again.

Disappointing Stay for a Business Trip

    rating09 Mar 2026

Title: Disappointing Stay for a Business TripI stayed at the Residence Inn Downtown Atlanta for a business trip and unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing. The hotel feels very outdated overall. Most problematic for a business traveler is that the room does not even have a proper desk to work at. There are also no USB-C charging outlets anywhere in the room, which feels surprisingly behind the times. To be fair, the room itself was clean. However, it is simply not suitable for a business stay. The air conditioning unit is located directly next to the bed and is extremely loud — it honestly feels like sleeping next to an aircraft turbine. The curtains also do not block out the light very well, so once it gets bright outside, the room quickly fills with light. The closet is extremely small and the door was partially coming off its hinges.Valet parking costs $50 per night, which would already be expensive, but the service is also quite slow. Since there is no parking garage directly attached to the building, it often took quite a while for the car to be brought back. The reception staff were friendly, but unfortunately that does not compensate for the fact that the hotel itself is no longer up to modern standards. For the price being charged, this hotel is definitely not recommended for business travelers.
