    An ode to Jahn…Jahn has a respect for life that is rarely seen on a coffee run first thing in the morning, let alone, broadly throughout society. It had been so refreshing to be reminded, ever so gently, (almost every morning) when I’m getting my day started at Avalon Starbucks— to be kind and intentional. Jahn embodies this through his extra care when making your coffee or breakfast pastry or tidying the workspace. He gives “teammate” with every motion. If you’ve missed your name being called… no worries, Jahn will quietly shuffle around the counter and deliver it to you personally. The way he makes eye contact and takes care to pronounce your name when handing you your order. Excellence. It’s just amazing to be blessed through observation of this human who seems to get being human so well… and it inspires me. It reminds me. Thanks Avalon Starbucks for partnering with Jahn. He gets it and is visibly committed to giving life his best.     Amazing location, and hotel! So is every hotel in the area, but what really sets this one apart is their service!     I was genuinely unimpressed with my stay. Several issues added up and made the experience far below expectations.At breakfast, I asked for the same parfait I had ordered the day before, only to be told they “don’t have it on Saturdays.” The server didn’t make any effort to check whether it could be prepared, and instead suggested I go to Starbucks. That’s not the level of service I expect from a hotel restaurant.Housekeeping was also inconsistent. Although we left the room every day around 8:30 a.m. and didn’t return until 4 p.m., the room was not cleaned daily.Finally, when I valeted my car, the parking attendant made an inappropriate comment: “I take care of your car and you take care of me.” Completely unprofessional.
