Uncomfortable Comfort Inn (Bellingham)
01 Aug 2026
????? (1/5)Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve had.The first thing we noticed was the smell. The room had a strong mildew and stale cigarette odor that never went away. While the front desk staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, the condition of the room left a lot to be desired. There were numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues:* The shower had no door or curtain, which resulted in water everywhere and likely explains the significant water damage around the bathroom trim.* The bathroom baseboards and trim showed obvious water damage and deterioration.* The ceiling had bubbling and peeling from previous water damage.* The air vent was caked with dust and what appeared to be years of buildup.* The desk area trim had visible water damage.* The bedside table was dirty, and when I pulled back the bedding I found a long black hair.* The cabinet was broken.* The door kick plate had been taped off after painting rather than properly finished. On top of that, the ice machine wasn’t working, and the Wi-Fi took nearly three hours before it would finally connect.Breakfast was just average (about 5/10). There were limited options, and even something as basic as peanut butter wasn’t available. We didn’t use the pool, so I can’t comment on that. The only real bright spot was the staff—they were courteous, pleasant, and did their best. Parking was free. Unfortunately, friendly service couldn’t make up for the poor condition and lack of maintenance throughout the property. Based on this experience, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Great place, might need to have a few things checked out in the new year possibly.

Clean room, the bathroom had a few things wrong I can see, one of which was the shampoo and conditioner dispensers didn’t seem to be in the right place in my suite compared to my friends. My friends suite had a few things wrong, the window didn’t work and some of their outlets didn’t. I know mine worked fine. The breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely check in again for a weekend down here if it’s just one night again or two. Not sure exactly but if it was to happen again I would easily go here or to the Quality Inn nearby as they both owned by the same company if I recall.
