    Adequate

    rating05 Apr 2026

The Radisson got the job done for an overnight. The staff was friendly, the bed was very comfortable, overall the hotel was quiet and our room was spotlessly clean. Some issues: The air conditioner in our room was a window unit that was as loud as a diesel generator even on a low fan setting and cycled on and off constantly -- be warned if you are a light sleeper. The TV was not a smart TV; you'll need to use your own device if you want to use a streaming service. The shower was tricky to figure out, and did not have a door that closes (!). The bathroom definitely showed signs of needing renovation, although other than the glaring lack of a smart TV, the room did not seem as dated or shabby to us as other reviews made it out to be. We also missed having a microwave, though the room did have a tiny refrigerator that came in handy and a small coffee maker that we did not use. I did get a good night's sleep here, not always true for me in hotels. Overall I'd have no problem staying here again for one night, but some pause for a longer stay.

Shambolic Emergency Evacuation and follow up customer service.

    rating29 Mar 2026

We stayed in February after traveling from Ireland for a funeral. The Hotel was fine until the last night. We were woken by an early morning emergency evacuation. We quickly exited the hotel and gathered outside in the cold in our pyjamas with some other guests. However many other guests went straight back into the hotel lobby with the alarm still ringing and standing around drinking tea and coffee. I was absolutely shocked and there was no hotel staff anywhere. Eventually a staff member declared a false alarm to some guests but the alarm was still ringing. This was quickly followed by the arrival of police officers and fire personnel. Eventually the scene was declared safe. The whole episode was shambolic. I can only dread what might have happened if it was a real fire or emergency. We asked to speak to a manager when we were departing but we were told there was no one available.Following our return home the hotel voluntarily offered me compensation which I accepted but they never followed through on their promise.Could you trust a hotel with emergency procedures like this? Could you trust a hotel that promises compensation and doesn’t follow through on their promise? Could you trust a hotel that doesn’t reply to emails?

    Clean, quiet, no complaints

    rating16 Feb 2026

We stayed here in February of 2026 for the Garden State Karate Championships. After a disastrous experience with drunken wedding party and music blaring in the hallways (by the hotel) till 2 am, the hotel was a lot better this time. No complaints, clean, quiet. I made a mental note of the young man’s name checking us in, but already forgot it. He was very accommodating and funny. Jenny Halat, General Manager at Radisson Hotel Freehold, responded to this review Thank you for the lovely review and giving us another chance! We're thrilled that you had a wonderful experience, and we'll be sure to share your comments with the entire team. Thanks again, and we hope to see you again soon.

    Awful place with poor management

    rating30 Jan 2026

Terrible customer service and hotel is a dump. Elevator is broken and looks like a death trap. Booked 2 nights only needed 1 informed them at check-in in and again at checkout. They make you use a third party to book so they can tell you they have no control over the reservation. I checked out a day early then the hotel lied to the booking service about when i checked out. Was told I couldn’t be given a receipt when i checked out also a lie. Avoid this place at all cost.

After booking three months in advance, the hotel cancelled our reservation 36 hours before check-in..

    rating13 Sept 2025

We reserved a King Suite with Raddison in Freehold on June 23 with confirmation email of our booking received. 36 hours before we were due to check in, the hotel in Freehold called and and left a voicemail that they had to cancel our reservation due to a “military booking” for the Joint Base. We were attending a wedding and our family and friends had many rooms reserved for that weekend. When they called, they said we could book a room at their “sister” hotel 25 minutes away. When we called back we asked why they didn’t just move the “military booking” to their sister hotel in the first place, since it was closer to the base. They refused to answer and absolutely refused to help and were belligerent and unhelpful. Horrible experience. Side note: we called a friend of ours that, let’s just say is in a very high position at the Joint Base, and they didn’t know of anyone military enlisted staring at this Raddison, and in fact had more local establishment's closer to the base for any listed attending the air show that weekend, Hmmmmm… Jenny Halat, General Manager at Radisson Hotel Freehold, responded to this review We would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the disruption to your travel plans and for the disappointment you experienced. We fully understand how important this stay was for you while attending a wedding with family and friends. To clarify, our hotel maintains a negotiated contract with the military. The unit in question is not from the Joint Base you referenced, but rather from a different base, and this group uses our hotel exclusively when they are in the area. This is why accommodations were required for them during the dates of your reservation. We did provide advance notice and offered relocation to our sister property as a solution, though we understand you declined that option. The reason your reservation was impacted was because it was booked as a prepaid third-party reservation and not within the established group block for that weekend. Guests booked directly within the group block were not relocated. We regret that this situation caused you such frustration and that our communication left you feeling unsupported. That was never our intention, and we will ensure the team reviews this experience so that we handle such circumstances with greater care in the future. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused, and we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention.
