Location

This stylish boutique hotel has been voted number 12 in the Top 100 Hotels In The World (Conde Nast). It is about 5 minutes walk from the theatre and nightclub district. Faneuil Hall shopping area can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes, while the near surroundings offer numerous restaurants, bars and links to the public transport network lie 50 m away. The nearest train station and bus station are a 10-minute drive, while the nearest underground station is around 5 minutes away. Cambridge and Boston airport are about 6 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel was modernised in 2023. 190 non-smoking rooms are located on 19 storeys and can be reached by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) is provided in public areas. The hotel offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee. Other services include a laundry service. To assist guests with their business and communication needs, the business centre offers a fax machine.

Rooms

Air conditioning and individually adjustable heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. All rooms are carpeted and have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. For a fee, extra beds or children's beds can be provided for little travellers. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub and a hairdryer. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

    This is a very comfortable and quiet hotel in an excellent location. Staff is friendly, rooms are very clean and well appointed, with a handy clothing steamer, nespresso coffee maker, tea kettle, cozy bathrobes, and great water pressure.     A great hotel all around

    This hotel is spectacular in every way: well-appointed rooms, excellent location, great staff. I LOVED the Eames chair in my room — wish I could have taken it home with me in my luggage. 😀 You can't beat the location, just a block or so from Boston Common, close to a busy transit station, steps from the Massachusetts State House and across the street from the cemetery where Paul Revere, John Hancock and Sam Adams are all buried. (Adams' grave appropriately looks out on a pub next-door to the hotel.) Sherley at the front desk was super helpful and surprised me with an upgrade to a room with the perfect view! (See photo.) If I ever return to Boston, I will most definitely want to stay again at the AKA.     We had an amazing stay at hotel AKA Boston common! It is in the heart of Boston right in the downtown area near many restaurants and bars. The service was incredible!
