    Staff very unexperienced. Internet stopped working at 11PM and staff refused to restart the router. Hallway lamp in the hotel room had to be on to be able to use the bedside lamps. Fridge very loud. Bed placed AT the window so cold and only accessible from one side. Floor dirty and needs repair (see photo). Bathroom dirty (see photos). Took me three emails to get a response from the manager.

    Born and raised in Grayslake, I was excited to come back and visit. Unfortunately, the owner of this hotel has cut corners at the expense of guest experience, beginning with the insufferable and disgusting front desk staff.Upon check in on 8/20 around 9pm, I was greeted by a rude old lady who was dead set on convincing me I booked the reservation via a third party, and that she’d “do what she could” to assign me a room. First of all, I booked directly through the Choice Hotels app, not a third party. Second of all, what do you mean “see what we can do?” I paid for the reservation just minutes prior. When I asked her to verify which third party, she ignored me. I asked again, she shrugged me off. She was dead set on treating me like garbage because I was still in my street clothes, even saying things like “this is not a motel.”I’ve never felt so disrespected by someone working the front desk at a clap job hotel in Lake County. Someone needs to tell this old broad to get off her high horse.The pillows are awful, they aren’t even standard size. They’re cushion fillers for accent pillows made for sofas.

    Room clean and nicely appointed. Front desk pleasant and helpful. Breakfast has lots of choices: cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, yogurt, toast, bagels, muffins, apple or orange juice, bananas, oranges, apples, coffee and tea. Room was quiet even tho hotel was full of some kids traveling soccer teams. Pool and hot tub area clean, stocked with towels, and has handicapped lifts. I don't know how to use one of these but hopefully those needing them would. Their website notes there is a free shuttle to Great Lakes Naval Base. We did not use this service but it is a nice amenity. Toiletries are mounted in tub area. It was a little hard to get shampoo out of the dispenser. Parking lot has at least 4 handicapped spaces.

    Convenient Shuttle Service for Navy Graduation

    Comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. Clean rooms, though maybe a bit worn. There are no on-site options for meals other than the breakfast buffet. Only has one driveway to enter and exit which is inconveniently located and sometimes requires a U-turn to access. Shuttle service for the Navy Bootcamp Graduation was convenient. Be sure to call ahead and reserve the shuttle.

    Jeremiah is absolutely AMAZING! We were there for my son's Navy bootcamp graduation and when we checked in he asked if we had our tickets. We had NO idea we had to have tickets for the graduation (my son left out that important fact lol). Jeremiah gave us all the information on what to do and where to get them-he even put the address in my phone's GPS to make sure we got to the right place. If it weren't for Jeremiah we may have very well missed my son's graduation. I would have been heartbroken. I cannot thank him enough for making sure we had everything we needed. He was so helpful and nice during our entire stay. He deserves a promotion!
