    Go some where else

    rating23 May 2026

First of all, it's in a noisy part of town; loud vehicles play loud music until the wee hours of the morning. Also the emergency vehicle sirens are constantly going off. Secondly, they spent a fortune on the lobby but very little on the rooms. You can't control the temperature of your room; the hotel is the same temperature in each room. The shower backs up in the tub. When I got out of the shower, I had a long black hair on my foot. My hair is short and blonde. Water out of the facet takes a while to get hot and trickles out. Internet is unstable. The bellhop sent me several blocks in the wrong direction to the CVS. But probably the worst offense is I left the room to eat lunch and came back to see if they had cleaned it. They had not, so I sat in the lobby for a while to wait. When I went to check again, my door was wide open with no one around but they had cleaned the room. I called the manager and they said they would move us for the night. Not sure what good that would do. The manager said they would speak to housekeeping. We stayed here due to a trade show. I would suggest you try else where if at all possible. central, Guest Services / Front Office at The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. Stay away

    rating18 May 2026

Stay away.I contacted the hotel in advance and asked if I could have a package delivered before my arrival — they told me it was absolutely no problem. When the package arrived, one of their employees suddenly claimed they had no storage room and decided to throw the package away.I am honestly speechless at how terrible this level of customer service is. central, Guest Services / Front Office at The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Weed Smell in hallways, Not Clean & Not Family Friendly

    rating16 May 2026

Very disappointing stay at the Congress Plaza Hotel. We arrived late with our kids after a long drive and found a used towel in the closet. When we lifted the blanket, the sheets underneath were dusty. Staff was rude and dismissive when we reported it, and management offered no real solution. There was marijuana smoking in the hallways and loud fighting throughout the night. When we reported it, the front desk accused us of saying it just to get another room and spoke loudly about it in front of others, which made us feel even more uncomfortable and unsafe with our children. When my husband explained we were concerned for our kids, the staff member responded by saying she had five kids of her own, which completely dismissed our concerns instead of addressing them. Overall, not a clean or family-friendly experience. central, Guest Services / Front Office at The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are truly sorry to hear about the cleanliness issues and the discomfort you faced during your stay, especially with your children. A used towel and dusty sheets are not acceptable, and we understand how distressing that can be. We also regret that our staff's response did not address your concerns appropriately, and we take your feedback seriously as it helps us improve our services. The disturbances you described, including the smell of marijuana and loud noise, are not reflective of the environment we strive to provide. Please know that your feedback is invaluable, and we will work diligently to address these concerns to ensure a better experience for future guests.Warm Regards, Guest Relations Manager The Congress Plaza Hotel Chicago

    Great location! Great views!

    rating06 May 2026

Amazing location! You can walk to many major attractions: art museum, millennium park, navy pier, Planetarium, aquarium, field museum- some you can see from the window! Buckingham fountain is right out front in Grant park!Parking (not included) next door is kinda pricey, $60+/ day, with NO in/out privileges. So it is nice to be close enough to walk places!- Pictures taken from 10th floor central, Guest Services / Front Office at The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, responded to this review Hello Guest,Thank you so much for your wonderful review!
