    Airport shuttle very limited

    rating18 May 2026

The room was fine. But I chose it because of the airport transportation. Our flight into O’Hare arrive late - about 9:15pm. I checked on the app and it said shuttle till 10pm. But when I called I was told there was no shuttle after 9.I had not planned on a $58 Uber ride.In addition the morning shuttle is very limited - leaving the hotel at 7am but not again until 9am.Otherwise the hotel was fine. But a rental car might be cheaper than two Ubers. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - Arlington Heights, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience, Robintexas. We are glad your room was comfortable, but we are sorry to hear that our airport shuttle schedule did not match what was shown in the app. The challenges you faced with shuttle timing and unexpected transportation costs are important for us to know, and our Guest Relations team will review the details you described. We understand how disappointing it must have been to learn about the shuttle limitations late in the day. Thank you again for helping us see where our information could be clearer.

Check in lady not too astute, had to ask for cookies. She just gives to some guest. We got in late, tired and a bit hungry but didn't want to go out. Room has grade school size toilets, not too clean but the jarring morning music un the lobby the worst annoying way to start the day. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - Arlington Heights, responded to this review Lynn, we are truly sorry your visit left you feeling disappointed. It is clear that both your experience at check-in and the condition of your room did not meet the standards we set for ourselves. The issue you described regarding your guest room will be addressed with our housekeeping team, and your comments about the morning atmosphere in the lobby have been noted for our Guest Relations team as well.Thank you for sharing these details with us. We appreciate the opportunity to improve.

    Mishap at Doubletree

    rating16 Mar 2026

We made a reservation at this hotel during weather related airport disruption. A mistake in my opinion. The good:Hotel staff was niceAirport transportation but VERY LIMITED The restaurant was goodThe bad:Untrained or wrong messages:1. We were at the airport all day. So at 6ish we decided to go to a hotel. Most hotels were booking fast. I filtered by airport transport thinking close proximity to airport. Wrong assumption. We called the hotel and were told the shuttle would be around 8ish. Whoever fit in the shuttle made it otherwise they need to get to the hotel on their own. It would be approximately $35 to the hotel. And next morning shuttle starts at 715 am. (Note that’s an additional 70 to your room rate). I had to call back because she didn’t specify the door just the terminal. Its 2E. Then she agreed to call management to get approval if anyone was left behind that they would send another shuttle in an hour. As you book non refundable due to the late reservation I couldn’t change at that time but refused to pay another 35 to 70 for the transport. The shuttle arrived before 8. At that time people were getting clearer instructions ie 8:10 or 8:15 pm. The shuttle left 2/3 full. Some took uber due to the wait. This was the last shuttle. 2. Arrived at the hotel but due to some issue someone was having with credit card on file we had to wait another 45 minutes 3. I mentioned the gold status and was told that it included food credit and the water. Further I confirmed the time of the shuttle as I had a 10 am flight at the time. She said leaving the hotel is not an issue more of an on demand.4. At checkout I was told gold status did not apply when booking through any app outside of Hilton. I knew points didn’t count but have always had the perks. They told me because I was told previously this one time they would apply. Afterwards I showed them it did show on my Hilton app the perks. This is not Hilton owned property. 5. Then I find out the shuttle only is at set times and the next would be 1 1/2 hour. If this is the case, why wouldn’t they have it posted times. We took lyft. All in all Im definitely less enamored with Hilton and definitely will not stay at this property again. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - Arlington Heights, responded to this review Thank you for providing such a thorough account of your experience, jmamac. We are glad you found some positives in your visit, especially when it comes to how our team members welcomed you and your impression of the restaurant. Still, it is clear that several aspects of your stay—particularly around transportation communication, wait times, and the handling of your Hilton Gold status—caused frustration and disappointment.Travel disruptions are challenging enough without additional confusion or delays, and we regret that our airport shuttle process and the information you received did not provide the clarity and support you needed. The issues you described with communication, as well as the experience at check-in and check-out, have been shared with our Guest Relations team to review and address. We will also connect with our transportation partners to look at ways we can make shuttle schedules and instructions more transparent for travelers.Thank you again for your candor, jmamac. We appreciate the opportunity to learn from your experience.

    Costly “Free” Airport Shuttle

    rating28 Dec 2025

Posting on behalf of my husband who stayed late December 2025. We have traveled extensively for business and leisure, and while it is expected for there to be some variation in quality and service within the properties of a hotel brand, the experience that the Doubletree Arlington Heights near O’Hare airport provided was not aligned with our expectations for the Hilton brand. Although the rooms were merely adequate, the shuttle service was the most disappointing issue with the stay. My husband selected this hotel after verifying through the website that the shuttle was running during the times he would be traveling to and from the airport. When he called the hotel on his way to the airport regarding shuttle pick up, he was told that he could only call for a pick up when he had arrived at the airport. He called again after his arrival to request shuttle pick up and was told that it would be two hours before the shuttle would be there to get him. Obviously, this is an unacceptable service time for a shuttle, and he had to get an Uber to bring him to the hotel. Upon check-in, he was also told that the shuttle didn’t start running until an hour after the time listed on the website. Because of this error he was also unable to use the shuttle to get back to the airport in the morning and had to pay for another Uber. Unfortunately, the included shuttle service wound up being completely useless and cost him two Uber rides to the O’Hare airport, adding unnecessary expense when another hotel could have been selected had the advertised information been correct. Based on the general quality of the hotel, he would suggest suggesting elsewhere. For anyone interested in the hotel primarily due to the airport location and shuttle availability, do not stay here. Reading other reviews, it seems that Hilton may want to consider some quality control or removal of their partnership with this property. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - Arlington Heights, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your husband’s experience. We’re sorry your stay didn’t meet expectations, particularly regarding the shuttle service and the information provided. Your feedback is very important to us and has been shared with our management team for review. We’ll make sure your comments are taken into consideration as we continually strive to improve.

Old and tired property with no shuttle service. False advertising on shuttle service.

    rating23 Oct 2025

I always check for shuttle service when I need it for airport pick up etc. Which was confirmed by the hotel. When we arrived into OHare and called the hotel, they said shuttle service was not available for over 1.5 hours. This was after calling without a phone pick up for 30 min. They would reimburse me for an Uber and they said no. I don’t have to pay $58 for a Uber ride to the hotel. The next morning I again asked for a shuttle ride to the airport and they said the shuttle was not available and would not give a reason. Again I had to pay $32 for an uber to the airport. I expressed my concerns, not only to the hotel manager and desk staff and nobody would respond. We also had issues with the air conditioning as it sounded like a train was coming through the wall. When I expressed my concern to the staff, they sent a maintenance guy up and all he said he can do is shut it off. So we went without Air all night.I would never stay at this hotel again. They obviously have false advertising on the shuttle availability and service and the property was obviously very old. General Manager, Agency / Consultant at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - Arlington Heights, responded to this review Nick, thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We're sorry your visit did not meet expectations, and we regret that key services and overall comfort fell short during your stay. Your comments regarding the shuttle and air conditioning have been noted and shared with our team for review. We appreciate your input, as it helps us work toward a better guest experience.
