    Hairs and leftover filth were clearly par for the course for the housekeeper who had glasses like the lady in my cousin Vinny and it showed in her work. Not clean. Even had suspicions that one of the beds sheets had been slept in. And it is not very close to starved rock.

    It’s always a pleasure to go to this Quality Inn!!! Today again like always Remmy the front desk was amazing & help me check in early! I will forever be grateful for the Quality Inn Peru Near Starved Rock State Park! Room are always clean & staff are always pleasant!!

    This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel, the first time in about 4 years. The location is great right off of I-80 with plenty of eateries and gas stations nearby. We immediately ran into an issue where Expedia had not transferred the reservation to the hotel, so the hotel had no record of our stay. I believe this was likely Expedia's fault, but you may choose to call the hotel and ensure they have your reservation on file. Dominick at the front desk was very helpful in getting the situation resolved.Luckily there were rooms available and after 45+ minutes they sorted it out and got us into a room. The doors are very old so the card readers are very picky with how they operate. We had to immediately go back to the lobby and get new card keys. Once we finally got into the room, everything looked to be clean and in working order. The bathtub is definitely outdated and the water pressure is not great. Room comes equipped with a mini-fridge, small coffee maker, and a nice TV.The AC unit in the room made a rattling noise all night which eventually got annoying enough to just shut it off. The hotel is pet friendly, so there were a few rooms either beside us or below us that had a small barking dog that made sleeping more challenging. The price of the hotel was relatively cheap for the area so if you are just looking for a place to sleep during the night this place will get the job done. I would not stay here longer than 1 or 2 nights. Breakfast options were limited but enough to get something in your system.

    Nice staff, but room needed repairs

    The staff was friendly and check in and out was easy. Room 303 had some problems. I ignored the large area of missing finish on the front floor of the bathtub. Although this room was clean, this made the bathtub look icky. I should have asked for a different room, but we had already started unloading our stuff after a long drive. After the toilet was flushed the second time, the chain fell off. I "fixed" it but after the 4th flush, it fell off again, and again....Husband rigged it with a rubber band. We reported it in the AM. Hopefully the toilet was fixed and assigning the room was halted until the tub could be refinished. Breakfast room had a waffle maker and microwave Jimmy Dean breakfast croissants and some kind of heatable wrap. Yoghurt, cereal and the usual drinks. This hotel will not be on our repeat list.

    The good and the bad, and a great sleep

    This is a tough one, there was some bad and good about here. The bad... the rooms were dated, needed airing out, the carpets past their prime and one of our rooms had holes in the tub that had been crudely repaired.The good... the price was cheap, which was a plus as we needed more than one room, right off the interstate (one of our vehicles needed repairs), they have smoking rooms (!!) and probably the most comfortable bed we had in a while. We really slept great. It's only rated at 2.5 stars so I didn't have high expectations and it fit all our needs and we had a great night sleep. So for a hotel with this rating I'd have to say it was above average. Very good seems too positive, more like good but we don't have that choice here now do we.
