    Extended stay America Schaumburg shutdown!!

    rating20 Aug 2025

To whom it may concern:Extended stay Schaumburg should be shutdown!!We just returned from a five night stay and it was the most disgusting, mismanaged, hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life! Please see below a list of issues:1. Dirty socks black because of the filthy floor.2. Mattress wrapped in plastic with mold stains, you can see through the plastic and a sweaty night sleep.3. Refrigerator old and very noisy.4. Pillows terrible in our first night pillowcases smelled like another person, disgusting. 5. No cable TV6. Door lock, almost impossible to lock damaged/broken.7. Flickering lights above the bed bothersome8. Chairs are filthy won’t even sit on them cause they’re stained with mold!9. Countertops are cracked in the kitchen10. Electrical outlets are loose probably a fire hazard11. Nobody’s ever at the counter they must have a camera because after waiting five minutes somebody will come out. 12. Dirty hallway carpets, probably because of the filthy floors in the rooms. The Worst Place to Stay.

    rating27 May 2025

This is the worst place to stay.I booked a hotel for one night with this hotel through a third party app.I checked in around 11pm and i was given room no 105.The moment i entered the hotel i smelt this strong odor.I then went to my room. The room was smelling so bad..I cant even explain the smell. The light shades had some stains like blood, the bed sheet had stains as well. The kitchen cabinets were dirty and smelled like mold. The couch was broken and had dirty marks on it.I stayed for like 5 minutes and i went back to the front desk and asked to cancel my reservation. There was no way i could stay in that place and i had a small baby with me.I called the app that i booked the hotel and they opened a claim but Extended stay denied to refund my money back even though i didnt stay the night there.I was in the room for less than 10 minutes and left. Please dont book this hotel and save yourself from trouble,This place is dirty and you might get sick.Your health is important than saving a couple of $$. Okay but missing some bare minimum comfort items.

    rating25 Aug 2024

The staff wasn't super friendly but I had no issues with them. The room was nice enough but it was missing a few things that in my opinion are needed to meet the bare minimum for comfort. #1 no blanket, no comforter, no bedspread. Nothing to weight down the sheets or provide warmth. #2 no ice in the building , not even ice trays for an extended stay. I drank warm water, warm soda, and warm white wine. It was not pleasant! #3 the pillows were flat. I used every one and still needed more. I don't know what I would have done if I had been traveling with someone. Lastly, no plug for the bath. I wasn't looking to soak in a economy motel but it would have been nice to be able to shave my legs. If you're driving and can bring these things with you then you should have no trouble here. If you're flying I'd spend a little extra on a nicer place. ESA GM, Agency / Consultant at Extended Stay America Chicago - Schaumburg - Convention Center, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced, including the missing comfort items and lack of ice facilities. Your comments are valuable, and we’re addressing these issues to enhance guest comfort. We appreciate your notes on our room and amenities and are working to make improvements. We hope you’ll consider staying with us again and give us the opportunity to provide a better experience.Sincerely,Hotel Management

    Worse Hotel Ever

    rating05 Jul 2024

Hotel is very dirty and has a horrible smell throughout the entire place, hallways, elevator, and rooms all smell. I had to switch rooms because the stench kept me from sleeping. The desk clerk was very rude as soon as we arrived. We tried to engage in small talk with him while he checked us in and we asked him if he was Indian, as we have many Indian friends and we wanted to find some common ground to break the ice. He immediately got defensive and said he is not a citizen and he will be a citizen in 3 years. He’s working on it. Lol I can assure you his citizenship was not in question. His name was Sohar or Somar, and he was very rude. I assured him that we are Christian’s and have good hearts and in no way did we have any bad intentions. He continued to check us in with a scowl on his face and not once did he smile. At the same time an older gentleman came to the desk to ask for help charging his phone, as none of the rooms had charging ports. Which is common in most hotels/motels today. Even if it’s just a small port by the lamp. Mr. Somar/Sohar immediately scolded the elderly man and told him there’s nothing he can do for him, he has to bring his own charger. That’s when I realized it was not just me he was being rude to, he’s rude to ALL his guests! I gave the elderly many own charger to use, while the desk attendant just stood there with the rudest display of character all the while wearing a name tag that read…please tell me how I can help you. The biggest lie! I will never return to this hotel and no one should either. Run and run fast because this hotel is just plain hell and should be shut down. I don’t even understand how they are still in business. ESA GM, Agency / Consultant at Extended Stay America Chicago - Schaumburg - Convention Center, responded to this review Dear teresacU4187UD, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your patience in switching rooms and regret the unpleasant odor you encountered throughout the premises. We are sorry for the interaction with our staff member. This is not reflective of our service standards, and we will address this behavior immediately. We also apologize for the lack of charging ports in the rooms and any inconvenience this caused. Your comments are invaluable in helping us improve our services and facilities. We are committed to ensuring a more pleasant experience for all our guests in the future.Sincerely,Hotel Management

    Terrible. Avoid at all costs.

    rating03 Sept 2023

This place is not good. I booked a king bed with a sleeper sofa. First, I had to go to the front desk for towels because there were not any in the room. Then, I realized there was no shower curtain. I called front desk and no one answered. Then, I walked to front desk and no one was there. I later called the front desk and the guy said he would take care of it. Forty five minutes later, I walked down to front desk. After waiting for 15 minutes, he showed up. He said he was washing it and would bring it. Then, I went back to room. We pulled out the sofa sleeper. Massively stained. I felt bad my son had to sleep on it. No sheets, no covers, back to the front desk. Waited another 15 minutes, he finally arrives. GEts the sheets and cover. I inquire about the shower curtain. He said he will have it there in a few minutes. We put the sheets on the bed and my son gets in the bed and scoots a little too close to the head of the sofa and the bed starts folding up on him. He said it felt like he was sleeping on metal spikes. Go to bed, wake up at 7 am, have to go down to the front desk for the shower curtain. Once again, they say they will bring it. They brought it. I had to put it up. AT this point, I was wondering if I was on the payroll. Also, all night long the air conditioner sounded like a plane taking off. This is a run down place. They were replacing the flooring in the main hall while we were there but there is so much more to replace like the stained mattresses. We don't expect much but towels, a shower curtain and sheets would be among the expectations. Avoid at all costs. There are so many others in this area. We usually come down for one night at a time to visit a family member. Never again at this place.. Also, it lists breakfast.. b.s. oatmeal packets and coffee machine.. thats it. ESA GM, Agency / Consultant at Extended Stay America Chicago - Schaumburg - Convention Center, responded to this review Dear richardbV1104AW, Thank you for choosing us and sharing your remarks.
