    Don’t stay at Westmont ESA. Horrible customer service

    Lazy lazy lazy people work here. At night after 10 pm the front desk closes and supposedly there is an overnight person on the premises in a room at the hotel Friday night - key wasn’t working. Took 45 minutes for someone to come down and open front desk.     Pretty simple message - this place is a dump! Disgusting do not stay here. Woman who checked me in on Sunday was too hungover to do her job.     I stayed here for one night because it was the only thing available in the Chicago area for under $175/night the weekend I was there. This place does not deserve more than 2 stars. For one thing it is a 45 minute drive from downtown Chicago because the traffic is insane. I should have stayed near the airport maybe. AC was loud all night. Got back to hotel 11pm front desk closed. Nobody to ask about getting a blanket or complain about my door lock not working. Room looked like a college dorm room in the summer -- nothing. No coffee machine in room. Went out for coffee at 8:30am and still nobody at the desk. People that had checked out just threw their rooms keys on the floor. Long term residents provided a creep factor and seriously garbage cans in the lobby our outside the front door. Never again.     I booked this hotel primarily because my family has specific dietary restrictions, and we needed a kitchen to prepare our meals. However, our experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, we had to wait 15 minutes just to check in, which was quite inconvenient after a long journey.The hotel itself is very rundown and poorly maintained. The towels provided were very dirty, and the bathroom was filthy, with someone else's body hair still present. Additionally, the window in our room was cracked. To make matters worse, the stove in our room wasn't working, and the hotel staff showed no interest in addressing the issue. This was incredibly frustrating and added unnecessary stress to our stay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.     How this hotel has 3.5 stars is beyond me. It's a dump. The only 2 good things I can say about it are:1) It's cheap2) My room didn't have bedbugs (at least I think it didn't).This place is old, dirty and straight up sad. The rooms are super worn down. The bathtub had stains, the stove was caked with dried on grease, the light shades were discolored, the furniture is falling apart, and the carpets are stained. The front desk is closed from dusk til dawn and you know this because there's a freaking metal shade that is pulled down! As the expression goes, you get what you pay for.Oh, even "ok" hotels these days have updated outlets to include USB plugs. This place? Nope. Even the "free Wi-Fi" is that pathetic old "Free but throttled", if you want a faster connection you have to pay for it.You're literally in the middle of NOWHERE. There a couple of restaurants within walking distance but, unless you have a rental car, prepare to Uber around.I'm giving it 2 stars because, astoundingly, I've stayed at WORSE, but that was many years ago.
