    Ostensibly 'Superior Room' Marred by Inferior Service

    I booked this hotel as it was one of the few options available to me while I was attending the world's largest cancer conference, held annually in Chicago. I am a Hilton Honors member and generally prefer Hilton properties, but I was disappointed with the service and the amenities at this hotel. On the night I arrived, one of two beside lamps had two bulbs that both needed replacement, and when I was taking a shower I was dismayed to find that there was no bath gel at all in the dispenser -- after I was soaking wet, of course. I got out of the shower and slopped across the floor to get some hand soap from the dispenser by the sink. That evening I texted a "guest experience" person who had contacted me to ask how my stay was, and I told him/her about the problems, assuming they would be fixed by the time I returned to the room the following night. Wrong: neither problem had been resolved. I called housekeeping, and in a short while Harry T, an electrician, came in an changed all the bulbs in the room, and he offered to get me the bath gel that I needed as well. He was very friendly and helpful, and a shout out to him.However, on another night there were no washcloths in the bathroom (I use at least one for showering), and on yet another night my room had not been serviced at all. I realize that these are "First World" problems, but I was shelling out a lot of money for this room, which, by the way, was ostensibly a "high floor superior room." What's the alternative? A "low floor, inferior room?"I have stayed at other Hilton properties in Chicago on previous trips, and will try to avoid the Hilton Chicago in the future.

    We had a great stay! We've been to Chicago a couple times, but only stayed on the Magnificent Mile.     A very excellent level of detailed hospitality. You can tell this hotel has been through some experience of high level clientele..yet they have a humility that doesnt bleed arrogance.     Location and room views were great. Was able to get convenience store deliveries quickly after arrival to have all I needed with the help from the in-room tech pad. Front desk staff was super friendly and was able to get me in my room several hours early. Jeff P. from HGV helped me book my next vacation.     Resort charge for WiFi? mold in bathroom housekeeping took trash, cleared towels but didn’t make beds. Staff was friendly hotel is old and timeshare guy at elevator.
